He’s just like us for real — maybe a bit too real.
South Korean actor Kim Seon-ho gave recent updates about his life to Harper’s Bazaar Korea in a YouTube video uploaded on March 31, where he candidly spoke about how he spends his free time.
The 39-year-old said: “These days, I just lie down a lot on my days off. When people ask, ‘What are you doing?’ I send them pictures of my ceiling from different angles.”
He explained that lately, he has been busy with filming and his return to the theatre scene, along with other promotional activities, leaving him with only one or two days of rest.
He continued: “I just want to lie down alone and order some delicious food. What did I order last time? I got jokbal (braised pig trotters) and tteokbokki (rice cakes) delivered and then I lay down right after eating. I want to cook, but I’m not skilled enough for it to be a relaxing activity.”
Seon-ho also spoke briefly about his experiences attending a photoshoot with the fashion magazine, sharing more about his dress sense. While posing for several pictures, he can be seen donning a velvety black jacket unbuttoned halfway down at his chest.
“It was my first time today, but I wasn’t wearing anything under that jacket. With the buttons undone this dangerously, you can see everything,” he said. “It was blatantly sexy.”
“I haven’t had many experiences with photos that have this kind of vibe. But I’m someone who wants to be sexy.”
He remarked that he enjoyed the experience as the photos turned out “great”, and he really liked the outfit.
Later, when asked what he felt was most attractive about himself, he admitted: “I used to be really self-conscious about my dimples. My friends kept teasing me about them when I was a kid. But as I grew up, people kept saying they liked them.”
He pointed out that all the male relatives on his mother’s side have dimples, and that he was “living gratefully” for having dimples too.
After being in theatre since 2009, Seon-ho made his screen debut in 2017 with the K-drama Good Manager, and is well-known for his roles in Start-Up (2020) and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021). He recently starred in Can This Love Be Translated, playing the role of protagonist Joo Ho-jin, streaming on Netflix.
