Kieran Culkin, Academy Award winner and soon-to-be father of four?
After winning the Oscar for best supporting actor Sunday, the “A Real Pain” actor took the opportunity to ask his wife, Jazz Charton, about having one — or two — more kids.
In his speech, the 42-year-old thanked his longtime manager, “genius” director Jesse Eisenberg and his parents before turning his attention to his wife, whom he wed in 2013.
“I love you Jazz — I have to thank my wife, Jazz, for absolutely everything and giving me my favorite people in the world,” he began, begging producers not to play him off stage before he could “tell a really quick story.”
“About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I wanted a third kid from [Jazz] because she said that if I won the award that she would give me the kid,” he recalled, referring to his 2024 Emmy Awards acceptance speech.
“Turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was going to win.”
Culkin admitted that his public declaration “really annoyed” Charton, 36, at the time — but that didn’t stop him from doing it again.
“But anyway, after the show, we are walking through the parking lot — she is holding the Emmy and we’re trying to find our car — and she goes, ‘Oh god I did say that! I guess I owe you a third kid!’ and I turned to her and I said, ‘Really, I want four.’”
“And she turned to me — and I swear to god this happened, it was just over a year ago — she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’”
Cameras captured Charton laughing and covering her face in the audience as Culkin continued on.
“I held my hand out, she shook it and I have not brought it up once until just now,” he said enthusiastically. “You remember that, honey? You do?”
“Okay then I just have this to say to you: Jazz, the love of my life, ye of little faith, no pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again… and let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say?”
The “Succession” star — who already shares daughter Kinsey Sioux, 5, son Wilder, 3, with Charton — famously asked his wife if they could expand their family after winning the Emmy for best actor in a drama last year.
“My beautiful wife Jazz, thank you for sharing your life with me and for giving me two amazing kids, Sioux and Wilder Wolfe, I love you so many and so much. And Jazz, I want more,” he said.
“You said — you said, ‘Maybe,’ if I win!” he continued. “I love you so much.”
