Kelly Brook has admitted that she was ‘too tired and anxious’ to eat during her ‘hectic’ modelling days as she reflected on the ‘bad habits’ she used to have.
The TV personality, 45, enjoyed success as a professional model – starting as a Page Three girl before moving on to lads’ mags which earned her the coveted FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World title in 2005 – and these days is a SlimFast ambassador.
And during an exclusive interview with MailOnline, the star looked back on the days she used to grace the covers of various publications, telling how her extremely busy lifestyle made it difficult for her to eat properly.
Kelly also told how her relationship with food has dramatically changed over the years after she fell in love with cooking, with things further improving thanks to her relationship with her husband Jeremy Parisi.
Reflecting on her past lifestyle, Kelly shared: ‘I think my lifestyle has changed a lot. When I was modelling, I had a hectic, fast-paced lifestyle. I was travelling a lot, living out of a suitcase, barely slept at home in my own bed, always in a hotel and with that, you get really bad habits.
‘You’re always jet-lagged and your eating habits are all over the place. For years I was very thin because I never used to eat much because I was always tired or anxious or just stressed and busy. Food was something that I never really thought about.’

However, Kelly has told how luckily her eating habits have since dramatically changed for the better, thanks to developing a skill for cooking.
Crediting her model husband, who she married in 2022, for this, Kelly continued: ‘It was actually when I met my husband who is Italian and French who loves to sit down for lunch and dinner, for him that’s the time when the family come together, it’s a very Mediterranean approach to food.
‘I actually fell in love with cooking and taking the time to eat nutritious meals.’
Despite her appreciation for cooking and happiness in her relationship, Kelly did admit that this contributed to her weight gain.
‘I think I enjoyed it a bit too much and that’s when the weight crept on!’ she explained.
‘I settled into a content lifestyle in a very content relationship and was at home a lot more. It’s about trying to enjoy those moments with him but also know that I can’t eat as much as him!
‘For me it’s also portion control. Sometimes I just can’t stop, I will eat and eat. I sometimes make big trays of lasagne and we can easily eat it between the two of us and that’s for a family of four! The more I learnt to cook and the more delicious the food became, the more I would eat so it was a bit of a catch 22!’
The TV personality went from a size 12 to 16 in 2018 after moving back to the UK from LA but has since dropped the weight with the help of SlimFast for which she is a brand ambassador.

And while Kelly admitted that her love of food previously caused her to gain some weight, she also remarked that women put ‘too much pressure’ on themselves to lose weight, before opening up on her husband’s support of her own body.
Kelly encouraged women not to stress too much about looking a certain way, especially in the eyes of their partners, as she noted that for the most part, men don’t even ‘notice’ the body hang-ups that women do.
Amid the candid and open chat about weight loss, healthy living and body confidence, the star – who has maintained her weight with the assistance of SlimFast – said to MailOnline: ‘We put so much pressure on ourselves, sometimes it doesn’t even come from our other halves.
‘They don’t see it, they’re not looking at the rolls, the back fat and the wobbly bits that we think they are. They don’t notice it as much.’
On how her model husband loves her figure, she continued: ‘Jeremy has always celebrated me, always told me I look great and I’ve never once heard him say anything negative or derogatory about my weight or how I look, that’s not an issue.’

However Kelly, who is currently preparing to run the London Marathon next month, said that while Jeremy is great when it comes to showing support for her body, she noted that when it comes to training with him, it’s somewhat more ‘challenging’.
She continued: ‘In terms of training and doing things together on a physical level, that is a bit more challenging because he’s super competitive and he’s very fit and sometimes when he comes out on a run with me, it’s like he’s my carer!
‘He’s there giving me electrolytes, giving me another energy gel, he’s there walking and I’m there shuffling thinking I’m running! It’s harder for him.
‘I don’t want to be like that, I want to feel on par with him. I feel like I’ve let my fitness go a bit. This is why I’m a bit more of an advocate now and getting out and going for a run because I hadn’t done it for years.’
