Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau had a date night to remember at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
“Heat checkin’ these chickens,” Perry, 41, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, April 11, sharing a handful of moments from the night before at the music festival.
In one snap, the pop star and Trudeau, 54, sat together while noshing on festival snacks. Another image showed Perry and Trudeau holding hands as they strolled through the iconic Indio, California, festival grounds.
Perry dressed casually for the occasion, sporting a white T-shirt and coordinating shorts with a black hoodie tied around her waist. The former Canadian prime minister opted for a white T-shirt and blue jeans with a backwards-facing Montreal Alouettes baseball cap.
“Love the 🧢 choice @justinpjtrudeau,” a comment from the Canadian football team’s official account replied. “We have to get you some merch too @katyperry 🤩.”
Perry and Trudeau even made it to see Justin Bieber’s headlining set on the main stage, where he sang along to his now-throwback music videos via YouTube.
“Thank God he has Premium,” Perry joked in social media footage from Saturday night. “I don’t wanna see no ads.”
Perry and Trudeau have been together since summer 2025.
“They’ve decided to be much more private about [their relationship],” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2025. “[They] are very interested in each other.”
As the pair’s romance continued to blossom, they traveled to Paris in October 2025 to ring in Perry’s 41st birthday.
“Katy is really into it. She’s very happy,” a second insider told Us at the time. “She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship. Their friends think they are a good match, but he actually hasn’t met a lot of her friends yet.”
Perry moved on with Trudeau shortly after Us confirmed that she called off her near-decade-long engagement to Orlando Bloom. Perry and Bloom, 49, now coparent their 5-year-old daughter, Daisy. Trudeau, for his part, was married to Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, with whom he shares three children, for 18 years until they separated in 2023.
Trudeau’s children have since formed a bond with Perry.
“When I’m really happy with a song, [I] send it [to her],” Trudeau’s oldest son, Xavier, said on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast earlier this month, referring to his own budding music career. “She’s always happy to give me advice or tell me what I should change. She’s super nice. She’s super down to earth. She’s great. I think that my dad’s happy so that’s important.”
