Katie Ginella is not moving forward on “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” she announced via social media Friday.
“After two seasons as a cast member on ‘RHOC,’ the network has decided to move forward with Season 20 without me,” she wrote via Instagram. “While disappointing, it’s not entirely surprising after seeing how Season 19 played out.”
“I’m incredibly grateful for the love and support I received — it was seen, felt, and deeply appreciated,” she continued.
“Representation matters, and I’m proud to have shown up authentically, even when it wasn’t easy. This chapter may be closing, but my voice and my story don’t end there.”
She included a snapshot of herself on a set, wearing a hot pink dress and a serene expression. In the caption, she simply added an orange heart emoji.
Co-star Tamra Judge was among the first to react in the comments section, writing, “I love you 🩷 Thankful for our friendship!”
The Bravo star’s husband, Matt Ginella, also offered support. “Love you more than ever.🙏 Onward! (With a lot less tears and toxicity,)” he wrote.
Some fans weighed in with rows of broken heart emojis, with one remarking, “Awww Katie 😢😢 I loved what you brought to the table.”
Ginella, 41 — who joined the show during its 18th season — seemingly failed to bond with the cast, despite an ongoing friendship with Judge.
She famously butted heads with Emily Simpson after Ginella’s daughter insulted cast members via social media, and during Season 19 of “RHOC,” she was asked during a lie detector test about leaking storylines — and failed the test.
In August 2025, the Bravolebrity called co-stars Gretchen Rossi and Jennifer Pedranti to task for a “hurtful” and racially insensitive social media video that was “quickly taken down” after a “few hours.”
“There’s a very inappropriate video going around where two girls are pretending to fight, squinting their eyes and making Asian faces to Asian sounds,” she told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” during an on-camera video at the time.
“It’s very hurtful and inappropriate,” she added. “It’s 2025 and I think we should read the room.”
Ginella made history as the first Asian American to star on “RHOC” when she made her “Real Housewives” debut back in 2024.
“It’s brought me back to feeling like how I felt growing up a lot,” she said of the video, which featured Rossi and Pedranti mimicking martial arts moves, lip-syncing to what might be considered stereotypical Asian voices while striking a freestanding punching bag.
Rossi also appeared to squint her eyes, in a seeming attempt to mock the physical features of Asian people.
“You know, I’m the very first Asian American on ‘Orange County.’ I’m the very first Korean adoptee,” she shared.
“And so being singled out from this cast, it’s all too familiar, the feelings and all that.”
Pedranti had no comment at the time, while Rossi claimed the video wasn’t meant to be directed at her co-star.
“The video we made was not directed at Katie and was not meant to be hateful,” she said in a statement. “Once it was addressed to us that it could be taken offensively, we took it down immediately.”
