A lot of actors from the TV and film industry have often talked about the casting couch. Some even revealed their shocking casting couch experiences when they were starting in the film industry. Now, Kasautii Zindaigi Kay 2 actress Erica Fernandes has revealed that the casting couch does exist in the entertainment industry. She also spoke about how her journey has been in the past few years and how things have changed ever since the COVID-19 pandemic. In an interview, Erica revealed that it has been two years since she was cast. Even when everything is right, she feels that one is not fulfilled. One doesn’t feel that satisfaction.
As reported by Times Now, in the same interaction on a podcast, Erica Fernandes revealed how COVID-19 had given her the opportunity to reflect on her life and her priorities. The actress said, “Covid gave a lot of time to many people to self-reflect. A lot of time went into melting points, breakdown points, there was self-realization. I found myself. I could meet eye-to-eye with me.”
Further about the dark side of the entertainment industry, Erika Fernandes revealed that casting calls just exist. She also revealed how there are WhatsApp groups of people, where people share their experiences with others. Erika also stressed the importance of staying true to oneself and not compromising to achieve anything in life.
The Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi actress further revealed, “I am sorry, bahut khokla hai ye industry. It looks shiny from outside, but you won’t have anybody in the inside. You will feel alone. Maturity comes with experience. My outlook towards life has changed, how I handle things are different. Your heart has to be at the right place. But if you know what you want and you want to do it in morally right way then go ahead.”
