Justin Timberlake has been forced to cancel his last remaining U.S. show of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour just hours before he was due to take to the stage.

The “Mirrors” singer announced via his Instagram on Thursday, February 27 that he was calling off the gig due to illness. Timberlake was due to perform in Columbus, Ohio for the last leg of his North American tour.

“You guys. I’m heartbroken. I have to cancel the show tonight,” Timberlake, 44, wrote in a message posted via the Instagram post. “I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me.”

Timberlake offered an apology to those he had disappointed by pulling the plug on the concert and reassured those who bought tickets that they would get their money back.

“It kills me to disappoint you and my team who have worked so hard to make this show happen. I want to reassure you, you’ll be getting refunds for your tickets,” he added, before signing off with, “I love you all.”

While fans appeared to be dismayed by the announcement in the comments section, many voiced that they understood that Timberlake’s health must come first.

“I’m sorry to all who had tickets tonight. Big hugs. It’s ok to be in your feelings about it. But please also remember he is human too & sometimes things happen even though we take every step possible to try to prevent them,” wrote one follower. “I know he feels so bad about having to cancel. You can be sad, disappointed, etc but please be kind to him ❤️”

Another added, “Take care of yourself Justin, I know you are heartbroken the tour ended this way. We love you so much, never forget that.”

Thursday night’s show had previously been rescheduled due to Timberlake falling ill. He had originally been scheduled to perform in October 2024 but was diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis at the time, forcing the singer to reschedule.

“Hey guys – I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2. New dates listed above. Thank you for understanding – I’ll make it up to you ❤️‍🩹 – JT.”

Earlier in the day, Timberlake’s wife Jessica Biel paid tribute to the “SexyBack” singer as he prepared to conclude the American leg of his world tour.

“There’s truly nothing this man can’t do,” Biel, 42, captioned an Instagram post that was shared prior to her husband being forced to cancel the Ohio show at the eleventh hour. “It’s been so special to watch you, listen to you, and be alongside you for this tour. One last show tonight, give it all you’ve got. I am the proudest.”

Timberlake’s next performances on the world tour are scheduled to take place in South America in late March, with Argentina slated as the next stop.
