John Mayer is ready for the next major life milestone as his romance with Kat Stickler continues to heat up.
“John is at a point in his life where he is ready to settle down and is looking to seriously date,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that Mayer, 48, and Stickler, 31, are “getting serious.”
According to the insider, the pair “spent Thanksgiving weekend together,” and Kat has even “been introduced to some of John’s friends.”
As for why their romance has been such smooth sailing so far, the source says, “They both are funny and have a great sense of humor and their personalities are a good match.”
Us confirmed in October that Mayer and Stickler are dating after first crossing paths online. An insider told Us that the musician “sought” the influencer out, while Stickler thought it would be “fun to date again” after going through a recent breakup.
“He has been actively pursuing her, inviting her places and texting her often,” the insider shared. At the time, the source said Stickler didn’t “think” her relationship with Mayer would turn into anything “serious,” but that she was having “fun” and “interested” to see “where it goes.”
The couple first sparked dating speculation when they were spotted out to dinner at New York City’s Fly Fish earlier this fall and have spent time together around the Big Apple multiple times since.
While neither Mayer nor Stickler has addressed their relationship status directly, the TikTok personality seemingly hinted at her romance with Mayer last month via her Instagram Stories, where she was seen rocking his merchandise.
In the picture, Stickler donned Mayer’s “Life With John Mayer Baby Blue Sweatpants” from his official website. She also captured herself eating donuts in bed, another potential nod to the musician. (Mayer is known for his “Donut Sundays.”)
Stickler and Mayer’s romance comes one year after her split from Bachelor Nation’s Jason Tartick. The pair dated for less than one year before calling it quits in October 2024.
“Im sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together,” Tartick wrote via his Instagram Story announcing the breakup. “It’s fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life that works out and other times, it doesn’t. This time it didn’t. Kat has brought me so much happiness and light, she brought out parts of me I never knew existed. Prior to her relationship with Tartick, Kat was married to Mike Stickler from 2019 to 2021, and the exes share 4-year-old daughter MK. She also was briefly linked to Cameron Walker shortly after her divorce.
Mayer, for his part, has been linked to a string of A-list stars over the years, including Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson and Katy Perry. The “Room for Squares” singer noted during a 2024 episode of the “Comfort Food” podcast that despite his reputation, he has set his sights on tying the knot one day.
“I’ve never told anyone this. People don’t think I want to be married. I absolutely want to be married,” he confessed at the time. “You know the secret, which is that I’m actually fairly well-adjusted. I so badly want to get married if only for my wife to just know in her heart, like, ‘John will know what to do.’”
He added: “I just think that level of being relied on is the hottest thing in the world to me. Like, ‘If my husband was here, he would know what to do. Call John. Call my husband.’ I just think … you’re a full grown-up when this is your romantic fantasy. You’re a fully fledged grown-up.”
