Joey Essex set to make his boxing debut ‘very soon’ as he follows in the footsteps of his cousin Demi Sims.
The former TOWIE star, 34, is in talks with Misfits co-founder Mams Taylor with Demi set to face Egypt Criss in the ring on March 29.
Joey already has a couple of potential opponents lined-up and is ready to take on the commitment.
Mams told SunSport on Saturday: ‘He’s got to take himself away from his schedule and implement the training and take it seriously because that’s what he wants to do.
‘Look, Joey Essex is not someone who’s gonna do this half-a****, so I understand for him it’s a hell of a commitment as well because he’s got a lot going on.
‘But I’m very confident we’ll see Joey Essex in a Misfits ring, very soon. Sooner rather than later.’

MissFits was launched in 2022 by YouTuber KSI and boxing promoter Mams.
Demi has been following in the footsteps of her elite trainer father, Tony, and will take on Egypt in Manchester.
Sharing the news to Instagram, Demi wrote: ‘IG ANNOUNCEMENT I will be fighting my debut against Egypt Criss on the 29th March in 2 weeks time at the Manchester AO arena on MissFits Boxing.
‘Let’s do this. Live streaming on DAZN Boxing.’
Elsewhere, Joey broke his silence after inadvertently finding himself involved in ex Grace Jackson’s blazing row with Luca Bish on Love Island: All Stars.
Joey – the first established celebrity to appear on the show – was famously paired with blonde bombshell Grace before his head was turned by Jessy Potts last summer.
Grace later returned for a second stint at love, but found herself embroiled in a big fight after butting heads with All Stars boyfriend Luca.
Joey made his feelings clear as he commented on a recent viral clip of the spat, during which his name was mentioned.

Underneath the social media clip, he posted a shocked emoji.
During the episode last month, Grace and Luca’s romance hit rock bottom after Luca appeared to have his head turned by bombshell Sammie Elishi.
Unimpressed with the behaviour, Grace admitted she feared suffering the same treatment she endured with Joey.
The striking blonde was seen getting emotional as she reflected on her recent romance with Luca – which led to co-star Harriett Blackmore making a dig at her ex.
Addressing Grace, she carped: ‘Sorry to say the J word but he ain’t Joey.
‘Do you know what I mean? He’s [Luca] not like that, he wouldn’t entertain something he didn’t want to.’
Grace was partnered with Joey, 33, for six days after he dumped Samantha Kenny to be with her. Grace and Joey already knew each other as they briefly dated in 2023.
Joey then left Grace to get with Jessy Potts – sneaking to the terrace to kiss her and leaving lasting animosity between himself and Grace.
