Joana Sanz, the Spanish model and wife of footballer Dani Alves, has announced she’s expecting her first child – and her message has struck a chord with many.

Just days after Alves was acquitted in a high-profile trial, Sanz took to Instagram to share a deeply personal post about her pregnancy and the emotional journey that came before it.

“I didn’t want to say anything until it was impossible to hide,” she admitted. “But I’m sharing this for the women who are still in the middle of their own battles.” Her video and caption opened up about the pressure to become a mother, her past indifference to having children, and the fear she felt once she started to consider it.

Joana Sanz opens up about IVF, miscarriages and endometriosis journey

Sanz didn’t hold back. She spoke honestly about enduring two IVF treatments, three miscarriages, surgery on her fallopian tubes, and a diagnosis of endometriosis. Despite creating healthy embryos, no clear reason could be found for why her pregnancies kept ending. “It was frustrating,” she confessed. “I’ve always been someone who achieves things through effort and determination – but this wasn’t something I could force.”

She also shared how the loss of her mother two years ago left her feeling alone. “No parents, no siblings – just this deep emptiness,” she wrote. “But everything changed the day I heard my baby’s heartbeat for the first time. That was my last frozen embryo, my final chance.”

Joana Sanz thanks fans after pregnancy news goes viral

Though Sanz hasn’t confirmed whether Dani Alves is the baby’s father, she’s been responding to messages of support from fans. “Only people I follow can comment on my posts, but I’m reading everything – thank you,” she wrote in her Instagram stories.

She ended her announcement on a note of encouragement for other women facing fertility struggles: “After so many storms, this is my rainbow. Don’t give up – the sun always rises.”

This story is a powerful reminder of how tough the road to motherhood can be for some women – and how perseverance truly does pay off in the end.
