Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she was forced to rehome one of her beloved dogs after her young son was bit.
The 35-year-old Oscar-winner made the sad revelation at a screening for her new film, Die My Love, at 92nd Street Y on Wednesday night after a stylish appearance on the red carpet.
The A-lister admitted that welcoming children Cy, 3, and a second baby born in 2024 with husband Cooke Maroney changed her perspective as a dog owner which ended up in her having to give up her precious pooch Princess Pippi Longstocking.
In a video from John Pascarella, she was asked if she was more of a dog person or a cat person during a Q&A and gave a rather unexpected answer as she revealed: ‘One of them bit my son, and that made me want to obliterate every dog ever.’
When Lawrence was first asked the question, she squirmed a bit as the audience could be heard reacting with audible sadness seemingly assuming her dog had passed away but she assured them that the dog is alive and with her parents.
Of Princess Pippi Longstocking she said: ‘She did not like New York. I lived on 1st and 67th just to be near the park for her. After I had a kid, dogs became so scary.

‘My son’s going up to it and it’s almost like I don’t recognize dogs right now. I just see them as a threat.’
She famously adopted the dog in 2017 but her entire life shifted after becoming a mother in 2022.
Lawrence said: ‘Anyway, after I had a kid, our dogs became so scary, you know?
‘It’s almost, like, I don’t recognize dogs right now. I just see them as a threat.’
The Silver Linings Playbook star went on to say that she does adore her cat Fred and has love for felines in general despite their sassiness.
She explained: ‘I have a cat and I feel like they’re so misunderstood.
‘They are a**holes and people who don’t like that about cats are getting that that is what is so funny.’
Lawrence married art director Maroney in 2019.

The dark psychological drama has received stellar reviews from critics, particularly for Jennifer’s bravura lead performance, yet she was shockingly snubbed when her name went unmentioned when nominations for the SAG Awards — renamed the Actor Awards — were announced earlier on Wednesday.
She stars in Die My Love as a woman with a tempestuous relationship with her possibly unfaithful husband (Pattinson).
After the birth of their first child, she is engulfed by severe postpartum depression and bouts of psychosis, while her husband and mother-in-law (Spacek) are seemingly powerless to help her.
