Last Friday, Jennifer Esposito officially bid farewell to the New York home she mortgaged in order to finance her feature directorial debut, Fresh Kills, back in 2022.

It’s unclear how long the 52-year-old Blue Bloods alum resided in the two-story property, but she was forced to mortgage the house after a ‘horrible producer drove’ her critically-acclaimed indie mob drama ‘into the ground.’

Esposito – who was offered $5 million to let a man direct Fresh Kills – had shared the house with her third husband Jesper Vesterstrøm and their two beloved dogs.

‘Yeah, I’m looking like a** right now because I’ve been crying because I’m moving out of my home,’ the Rebel[lious] Podcaster informed her 206,000 Instagram followers.

Esposito then wondered aloud why her colleagues weren’t helping promote Fresh Kills – prompting sudden supportive comments from Don Cheadle, Rosanna Arquette, Jerry O’Connell, Debra Messing and Patti Stanger.

By Wednesday, the F Plus star doubled down that she had absolutely no regrets ‘sacrificing everything’ in order to write, produce, direct and star as Francine Larusso in the eighties-set feminist flick alongside Annabella Sciorra, Odessa A’zion and Emily Bader.

‘Listen, I’m not living in a car. The bank didn’t take my house. I had to sell it,’ Esposito clarified.

‘I want to be very clear. I’m so deeply proud of myself and I would do it again – not in that way.’

The Staten Island native said ‘betting on yourself is never wrong’ and she doesn’t need a house, big things or fame because she only ‘cares about the work.’

‘I didn’t lose, I actually won because I know exactly what I can do as an artist and I’m not stopping,’ Esposito said.

‘I don’t have any more houses to mortgage but I’m not stopping, so there’s no shame and there’s no more tears.’

Fresh Kills – which also received $3.5 million in IPO on Upstream – only earned $68,310 at the US/Canada box office, but it’s still streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Hulu.

The former bakery owner has already commenced filming and fundraising for her second directorial effort, Mary Rides the F Train, which is about a down-and-out artist befriending a mysterious woman on the subway.
