Jane Fonda recalled Rob Reiner’s final night at Conan O’Brien’s star-studded Christmas party before the filmmaker was stabbed to death.
The “Grace and Frankie” alum took to Instagram Monday to share a photo of Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, who was also found fatally stabbed Sunday.
“Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,” Fonda, 87, captioned the post.
“They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them [the] night before last looking healthy and happy,” she added.
“I am reeling with grief. Stunned.”
The day before their deaths, Rob and Michele attended O’Brien’s holiday bash at the comedian’s home.
During the festivities, Rob and his wife allegedly got into a “very loud argument” with their son Nick, and left the party after the confrontation.
Sources told People that Nick was allegedly acting erratically with guests at the party.
“Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,” an insider told the outlet Monday.
Another source claimed to Us Weekly that the screenwriter, 32, behaved “creepily” at the bash, while a third insider told TMZ that Nick looked out of place at the party, wearing a hoodie when the dress code was formal.
On Sunday, Rob, 78, and Michele, 68 — were found stabbed to death by their daughter, Romy, in their Brentwood, Calif., home.
The following day, Nick was arrested on charges of the murders. He is being held at LA’s Twin Towers Correctional Facility without bail.
The “Being Charlie” writer has openly battled with drug addiction since he was a teenager and had a reputation for violent behavior.
