Jameela Jamil defended her feminist views after calling Blake Lively a “suicide bomber” and a “villain” in a series of texts.
The “Good Place” alum, 39, took to Instagram Stories on Thursday to address her texts with Justin Baldoni’s publicist, Jennifer Abel, which were uncovered in recently unsealed court documents.
“Guys, feminism means fighting for the political, social and economic equity for women. Just gender equity,” Jamil said in a video, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“It does not mean you have to like every single woman. It doesn’t mean you have to be friends with every single woman. It means you can actually beef with other women. You can criticize them. You can do whatever you want, as long as you are also fighting for their human right to the same things that men have in this world.”
The self-proclaimed feminist and activist continued, “That’s all feminism is. It’s a moral and political stance. It is not a sleepover where we braid each other’s pubes, OK? So if you are fighting for women’s rights, but you don’t get along with every single woman, it doesn’t make you a bad feminist.”
Although she did not name-drop Lively in her Story, her comments came shortly after the DailyMail exposed her texts with Abel.
In the August 2024 exchange, Jameel and the PR strategist were reacting to a TikTok video about Lively’s allegedly “tone-deaf” promotion of the film.
At the time, the “Gossip Girl” alum had been accused of promoting her haircare line and talking about her fashion instead of the film’s serious theme of domestic violence.
“I want to officially incorporate nightmare c–t and demon c–t into my vocabulary; UNBELIEVABLE; She’s doing this to herself,” Abel texted Jamil, who is also her client, about Lively.
Jamil curtly replied, “She’s a suicide bomber at this point.”
Later in their conversation, Abel expressed that she hated Lively “so much,” to which Jamil agreed.
“I’ve never seen such a bizarre villain act before,” the “She-Hulk” actress texted. “She’s Over over.”
A source close to the matter exclusively told Page Six Thursday that Jamil’s comments were “disappointing.”
“It’s disappointing that instead of listening to women when they speak out, other women call them names,” the insider said.
Rumors of Lively and Baldoni’s feud sparked in August 2024 after their movie, “It Ends With Us,” premiered in New York City.
By December, Lively filed an official complaint against Baldoni, accusing him of sexually harassing her on set, before officially suing him. The 41-year-old has repeatedly denied.
The “Jane the Virgin” star reacted with a $400 million countersuit accusing Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of defamation. He also sued the New York Times for libel after the outlet reported on Lively’s lawsuit.
This past summer, a judge dismissed both of Baldoni’s countersuits; however, Lively’s legal battle against the actor is still ongoing.
