Jennifer Lopez is a Vegas showgirl once again.
The long-awaited residency is finally here, as she hit the stage during her debut performance of “Up All Night Live in Las Vegas” on Tuesday night.
With performances scheduled through March, Lopez knocked her first show out of the park, reuniting with collaborator Ja Rule for a few throwback hits.
The sold-out audience of the Colosseum at Caesars erupted in cheers when the stars realigned, bringing early-aughts favorites “Ain’t It Funny” and “I’m Real” back to life.
Opening with a Broadway-themed medley — including “Let Me Entertain You” from “Gypsy,” along with her own “Waiting For Tonight,” “Mambo!” from “West Side Story,” the iconic “Jenny From The Block” and 2007’s hit “Do It Well” — the performance was immediately a hit.
And the wardrobe didn’t disappoint either.
Lopez is known for regularly tapping into her inner showgirl when performing, so the Las Vegas mainstage was no exception.
During the concert, Lopez slipped into multiple embellished, cutout bodysuits that boasted beaded fringe and torso detailing, her microphone crystal-covered to match.
Another pink satin and sheer lace corset bodysuit offered up thoughts of Playboy bunny costumes, sans ears.
Lopez even seemed to be influenced by some of Las Vegas’ greats from previous eras, wearing a pink satin gown with a fur-trimmed robe on top for “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” as well as a purple sequin dress with a matching feather boa.
The kicker came with a totally sheer lace catsuit, complete with a spiderweb-inspired cape and a sculptural high collar.
While head-turning on its own, wearing it while singing the theme song of “The Kiss of the Spider Woman,” her last film (based on the musical… based on the novel…) that was just released in October, truly took the drama to the next level.
