Brittany Mahomes gave fans a glimpse into the dream nursery she designed for her newborn daughter Golden Raye.
She and her husband, NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, welcomed their baby girl into the world on Sunday, January 12, and were prepared for her homecoming.
The 29-year-old Kansas City Chiefs WAG opened up to People Magazine about working with Crate & Kids to piece together her baby girl’s ‘cozy’ room in an interview leading up to her due date.
The mother-of-three posed in a cream woven button up and white slacks as she cradled her bump. She posed beside her baby girl’s crib, flaunting the minimalistic but modern pink theme.
‘Our life can be hectic, especially with two little ones running around, so our goal was to make this space serene and calming,’ she told the outlet of Golden’s chic room.
‘I love a cozy, moody vibe and felt like the dusty rose was a peaceful palette and something that she could grow into,’ she added.

Golden’s new room was fully furnished with a cream rocking chair and a six-compartment storage cabinet for her clothes. We also get a glimpse of her blush colored changing station, adorned with a plush bunny.
Hung upon the sun ray wallpaper was a poster that read ‘Let you light shine,’ in coral tones. A down-bridge shade lamp was added for a touch of gold.
Recalling the moment she first began to conjure up decor ideas for the room, Brittany said she and Patrick teamed up to select pieces that they both felt ‘comfortable’ in.
‘I took the lead with presenting ideas to the design team, but Patrick definitely had a say in choosing select pieces and options they gave us,’ the blonde vixen shared. ‘We both spend a lot of time in the nursery, so we wanted to make sure it was a space we were both comfortable in.’
On the opposite side of the room was a pastel pink wall adorned with three floating shelves that held toys, plushies, books and the alphabet on a wooden board. A setting sun cutout was added as a nod to Golden Raye.
The BFF of Taylor Swift also revealed she work closely with Crate & Kids and provided samples of inspiration which influenced the final room decor. Ultimately, she was ‘blown away’ by the result.
‘We worked with Crate & Kids on the nursery because of their amazing Design Desk services. Their team shared beautiful renderings of the nursery based on the inspiration that I shared with them, and we were blown away by their design,’ she said.
Pointing out the evident connection between the solar theme and her daughter’s name, the star admitted that Golden Raye’s moniker was indeed the inspiration for the motif.

As tribute to Golden Raye’s NFL star father, a small plush football was placed in a shelve filled with books, wooden blocks, and a basket of animal plushies. Of course, a full sun accent was strategically hung above the shelf, beside a succulent.
‘The design is inspired by baby’s name! There are lots of personal touches throughout to go with the theme. Crate & Kids had some really cute pieces that worked perfectly for the vibe I was looking for,’ Brittany added.
The star also pointed out various furniture items that she felt were a ‘necessity’ with her experience as a mom-of-three. She also shares Sterling Skye, three, and Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes II, two, with Patrick.
‘After having two babies, I know how much time you will spend in that chair and a comfortable place to sit is needed,’ she said. ‘I love the Nessa Sherpa Glider from Crate & Kids, it’s super comfortable and looks perfect in that space.’
Brittany added: ‘Plus, the matching ottoman is moveable, which is a necessity since Patrick is a lot taller than I am — we love that we can adjust it to whoever is using the chair.’
And with her three-plus years of experience as a parent, the Kansas City Current co-owner said she knew exactly which decor pieces were unnecessary this time around.
‘I’ve learned from every baby that you don’t need nearly as much as you think you do, especially in the early days,’ she shared.
Of course, the Texas native spilled her own advice for future mothers-to-be.

She shared: ‘I always tell new moms to focus on the essentials for newborns — a crib for them to grow in and a glider to rock them in at night, plus the smaller things like a bassinet, diapers, onesies, and to add in cute clothes and larger items to the registry in sizes for when they’re a little older.’
Brittany also revealed that she was ‘excited about becoming a family of 5’ and that her toddlers were also over the moon to welcome a little sister.
‘They’re both excited to have a baby sister — even though Bronze is still a little too young to fully understand, he can’t wait,’ she said at the time.
‘Sterling is the best big sister already and has been loving going into the baby’s room to play with the new toys,’ she added.
Brittany and Patrick are high school sweethearts. They started dating in March 2012 while attending Whitehouse High School in Texas, even attending their prom together a year later.
