In the film categories, ‘Peter Hujar’s Day’ — which stars Ben Whishaw and Rebecca Hall — received five nominations, the most for any film at this year’s ceremony.
The film is one of five contenders for Best Feature. It faces stiff competition from ‘The Plague,’ ‘Sorry, Baby,’ ‘Train Dreams,’ and ‘Twinless.’
Clint Bentley and Ira Sachs are both nominated for best director — for ‘Train Dreams’ and ‘Peter Hujar’s Day,’ respectively.
Also nominated in the same category are Mary Bronstein for ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,’ Lloyd Lee Choi for ‘Lucky Lu’ and Eva Victor for ‘Sorry, Baby.’
