As a celebrity shopping writer, it should come as no surprise that I also love delving deeper into the lives of A-listers by listening to their memoirs via Audible. Not only does the audio version work well with my busy lifestyle, but hearing their voices is intimate and makes the stories come alive. For years, I’ve spent the $16 a month it costs to buy an audiobook, but thanks to Amazon Music, I’m now able to get them for free.

Sure, this might be Amazon’s way of convincing people to sign up for its music app, but this deal is one you won’t want to miss. Not only is Amazon Music Unlimited offering three months free when you first sign up, but it’s just $12 a month thereafter and comes with one Audible book credit per month. Spending less than my current subscription and getting music as part of the price? Girl Math says my audiobooks are basically free now.

As a self-proclaimed bookworm, I’ve already read all sorts of options from Audible’s bestseller section, including self-help books like Mel Robbins’ The Let Them Theory and more enthralling reads like Greenlights, a memoir by Mathew McConaughey where he discusses his life journey and personal philosophies. When Prince Harry released Spare in 2023, I immediately downloaded it to get the royal tea. Still, with so many new releases, I’m never at a shortage of options, and right now, my TBR list includes Brook Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old (by none other than Brooke Shields), where she talks about her personal journey aging in the public eye and finding self-acceptance in midlife. I even pre-ordered the humorous How to Giggle by Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo, which is their guide on taking life less seriously. As a fan of their Giggly Squad podcast and a reality TV buff, it’s a must-read.

With how busy my life is in 2025 (hello, career woman-meets-cat mom), Audible makes it much easier for me to catch up on the latest celebrity books without having to sit down and turn all the pages. It’s ideal since I can listen during long walks outside, working out in the gym, commuting across my city and especially while traveling on long flights.

If you’re still debating that Audible subscription, I suggest switching to Amazon Music Unlimited, ASAP. With how much cheaper it is than Audible (with that same one-book-per-month offer), saving extra cash should be a no-brainer. Compared to the old subscription price, you’ll be pocketing $84 in the next year! It’s time to take advantage of this great price!
