At a Glance: How to Stream Canadian Screen Awards 2026

  • Date: Sunday, May 31
  • Time: 8 p.m. PT/ET
  • TV channel: CBC, CTV, Global
  • Stream online: YouTube

The 2026 Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs) take place this Sunday, May 31 and will air across a number of Canadian broadcasters on TV. The ceremony will also stream free online via the CBC YouTube channel.

While CBC (the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) offers occasional clips on its YouTube channel, live video is only available to residents in Canada. To livestream the CSAs from outside of Canada, you’ll need to use a virtual private network to set your location to a Canadian IP address.

EDITOR’S CHOICE

We like ExpressVPN, which lets you safely and securely change your location to Canada (or dozens of other countries) to view content outside of the U.S. Pricing for ExpressVPN starts at just $2.49 right now — the cheapest price we’ve seen in all our years of using the virtual private network — and your sign-up comes with a 30-day money back guarantee.

Try out ExpressVPN risk-free here and use it to stream the Canadian Screen Awards live online free via the CBC YouTube page.

You can also try NordVPN, which has pricing from $3.59/month here. NordVPN’s packages include anti-virus and scam protection to help users steer clear of malware, phishing and ads when browsing content in another country.

As of this writing, the 2026 CSAs are not scheduled to be broadcast in the U.S., so the only way to watch the show — and see the stars — is by using a VPN to livestream it online.

Canadian Screen Awards 2026 Nominees

Heated Rivalry landed 18 nominations for this year’s ceremony, including a nod for Best Drama Series, as well as Lead Performance nods for Hudson Williams and Francois Arnaud. Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova and Sophie Nélisse are up for Best Supporting Performance in a drama, while Nadine Bhabha is nominated for Performance in a Guest Role. Worth noting: the CSAs changed their eligibility criteria this year to only nominate Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Series star Connor Storrie is an American citizen and therefore not eligible for a nomination.

Netflix’s Inuit series North of North leads all nominees with 20 nods, including Best Comedy Series. In the film category, RT Thorne’s 40 Acres leads with 10 nominations, including Best Motion Picture. Mike Myers, meantime, will be honored with the Academy Icon Award, presented to a Canadian individual “for their exceptional, ongoing contribution to the media industry at home or abroad.”

The 14th annual Canadian Screen Awards will actually be presented over four days in Toronto during Canadian Screen Week 2026. The television portion of the event, hosted by Kim’s Convenience’s star Andrew Phung, airs Sunday. Stream the CSA ceremony live online with ExpressVPN.
