Steve Carell is going back to college.
“The Office” star leads HBO’s newest Sunday night series, “Rooster,” which premieres tonight, March 8. The half-hour comedy comes to the streamer from Bill Lawrence, the creator behind acclaimed comedies “Scrubs,” “Shrinking,” and “Ted Lasso.”
Carell stars as Greg Russo, a bestselling author navigating a complicated relationship with his daughter (Charly Clive) on the college campus where she works as a professor as she deals with her own relationship troubles.
The series also features Danielle Deadwyler, “Scrubs” alumn John C. McGinley and Phil Dunster, who also appeared elsewhere in the Lawrence-verse as a main character in “Ted Lasso.”
