Travis Kelce revealed how Taylor Swift reacted to his breaking one of her chairs while filming the latest episode of “New Heights” and why she was to blame for the incident.
During a Friday appearance on his Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, he addressed the hilarious moment, saying Swift “laughed her ass off” because she “has a good sense of humor.”
He explained that the incident happened while Swift was out of the house, noting, “But me and Jason [Kelce] talked about it right after like, ‘Should I just super glue it and, like, the next person that sits in it breaks it?’
“But I looked at how bad I broke it, and like not possible, I’m gonna need like a whole roll of duct tape to f–king put this thing back together the way it was splintering,” he continued.
Once Swift was home, he “presented it to her because he felt bad” by telling her, “I have never seen you sit in this chair, you didn’t care about it, right?”
Kelce went on to blame his break from football as the reason he had gained weight, as well as the singer’s baking.
“I immediately went over to the scale, though. I had to see where we were at. No job January has been exactly that. I had two [almond] croissants on the way here,” the 36-year-old explained before adding, “I’m not going to lie, I broke Taylor’s chair with the weight I gained from the sourdough.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end teased that, despite the faux pas, Swift’s bread leads to “good gut health.”
Travis thought he landed in hot water after breaking one of Swift’s chairs while filming the latest episode of his own podcast with his brother and Kylie’s husband, Jason.
While laughing at a joke the former Philadelphia Eagles center had made, Travis leaned back, and the chair audibly snapped under him.
Jason, 38, quickly responded by asking if he was “alright” — as Travis simply said, “We’re good. F–k. Taylor’s gonna kill me!”
While guest-starring in Travis and Jason’s podcast in August, the pop star gushed over her baking “obsession.”
“I’d say all my hobbies could be categorized as, like, hobbies you could have had in the 1700s, you know? Like, I get all my granny s–t,” Swift, 36, joked.
The Grammy winner added that she has “a different baking obsession every six months,” to which Kelce replied, “I am the luckiest man in the world.”
“We’re very deep in a sourdough obsession that has taken over my life,” Swift detailed. “The sourdough’s taken over my life in a huge way. I’m really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now.”
Swift and Travis first went public with their relationship in September 2023 and announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post in August.
The artist simply captioned the romantic pics, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
