Jodie has previously attended protests in the past such as in 2022 when she was shoved to the ground by police during an abortion rights march in Los Angeles.
The Hands Off! protests over the weekend took place in numerous cities across the country, including Washington D.C. against Trump and DOGE head Elon Musk.
Thousands swarmed ICE’s Washington D.C. headquarters amid the nationwide demonstrations, decrying Trump’s mass deportation policies following the detainment of doctoral student Rumeysa Ozturk, 30, from Tufts University.
It came as hundreds of thousands of others took to the streets to protest the, ‘Trump-Musk billionaire takeover and the Republican assault on our freedoms and our communities.’
Videos posted on social media showed demonstrators clutching Palestinian flags and signs that read, ‘Let Gaza Live!’ rallying around the the Customs and Border Protection headquarters.
The president was far from the action however and spent the day playing golf at his Florida resort.

The Department of Homeland Security said she and two other Palestinian students at Columbia University, Ranjani Srinivasani and Mahmoud Khalil, were detained because of their ‘support for Hamas.’
Their detentions have sparked outrage from civil rights advocates and immigration lawyers who claim they were unlawfully detained.
On Saturday the students’ supporters marched side by side members of almost 200 groups as part of the ‘Hands Off!’ demonstration.
Representatives such as Al Green also joined the protests amid calls from Democrat constituents for their party to present a stronger front against Trump and the Republicans.
In New York, thousands were seen flooding 5th avenue with American flags, Ukrainian flags, and signs that pictured Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Trump captioned, ‘Have you no shame?’
Protestors also lined the Boston Common in Massachusetts with signs that read, ‘This is the government our founders warned us about,’ and ‘You can’t spell hatred without red hat.’
The demonstration marks the first massive protest against Trump since the Women’s March in 2017. The Women’s March included A-list stars like Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Jane Fonda, and Cher.
Trump hasn’t responded to the protests yet, but defended his tariff economic plan on Truth Social on Saturday.

Last year in July, Sweetin challenged the backlash over the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics which saw a controversial depiction of what appeared to be Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper.’
At the time, she shared a post to her Instagram stories – which was originally shared by influencer Matt Bernstein – that read: ‘the drag queens at the olympics were re-creating the feast of dionysus, not the last supper.
‘and even if you thought it was a christian reference – what’s the harm? why is it a “parody” and not a tribute? can drag queens not be christian too?’
Jodie uploaded another video as a comedian explained how it had depicted Dionysus and not The Last Supper.
The actress added her own caption which read, ‘Tell me you don’t know about art or history, without TELLING me you don’t know about art and history…’
Sweetin’s take on the opening ceremony came shortly after her former Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure shared a differing opinion on the banquet scene.
The devout Christian – who played D.J. Tanner on Full House – expressed in a video at the time, ‘The Olympic Games have always brought me so much joy. It’s the best of the best athletes in the world competing for the title.
‘So to watch such an incredible and wonderful event that’s gonna take place over the next two weeks and see the opening ceremonies completely blaspheme and mock the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper was disgusting.’
‘And it made me so sad. And someone said, “You shouldn’t be sad. You should be mad about it.” And I’m like, “Trust me. It makes me mad.” But I’m more sad, because I’m sad for souls.’

And in the caption, Candace wrote, ‘You asked me to make this shareable on story, so here it is. My take on the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
‘Since posting, many have tried to correct me saying it wasn’t about an interpretation of DaVinci’s The Last Supper, but a Greek god and the festival of Dionysus; who is a god of lust, insanity, religious ecstasy, ritual madness etc.’
She added, ‘I still don’t see how that relates to unifying the world through competitive sports and acceptable for children to watch.
‘In any case, I’m not buying it. I hope you’ll listen all the way through. God loves each and every one of you and His desire is for you to know Him. I won’t stop praying and calling on Jesus’ name.’
And in 2023, Jodie had expressed her ‘disappointment’ that her movie Craft Me A Romance was sold to socially conservative TV network Great American Family – which Bure moved to following years with the Hallmark Channel.
‘Sometimes, we, as actors, don’t have control over which network buys the projects we are in, nor are we a part of the process in which they get sold,’ Sweetin told People at the time.

‘So I was very surprised to learn by reading about it in the press yesterday that the independent film I worked on over a year ago was sold to Great American Family.’
She added, ‘I am disappointed, but in keeping with my mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future money made from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations.’
It came after Candance said that the network would ‘keep traditional marriage at the core.’
After her comment garnered backlash, the actress broke her silence and stated that she has ‘great love and affection for all people.’
