Hollywood A-lister Mickey Rourke is latest shock contestant revealed for Celebrity Big Brother as first look pictures of this year’s house are revealed

Hollywood A-lister and professional boxer Mickey Rourke is the latest shock contestant to be revealed for Celebrity Big Brother. 

The Oscar nominated star, 72, marks one of the show’s biggest signings in history and with public feuds with Robert De Niro, two marriages and a string of high profile relationships, producers will be hoping the he brings plenty of drama to the house. 

A TV source told The Sun: ‘It’s hard to think of a Big Brother booking as big as Mickey Rourke since the show began.

‘The tales that man has to tell will no doubt be legendary and bosses hope it could replicate the success of Sharon last year, who was very loose-lipped when it came to dishing the dirt on famous faces.

‘Mickey is also outspoken, with strong views, and isn’t afraid to share them.’ 

ITV representatives told MailOnline: ‘Any names linked to Celebrity Big Brother are speculation.’

In the past Mickey has been open about his changing face throughout the years, claiming to have undergone plastic surgery predominantly for facial restructuring due to injuries from boxing. 

He told DailyMail.com in 2009, ‘Most of it was to mend the mess of my face after the boxing. I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together.’

Rourke continued, ‘I had my nose broken twice. I had five operations on my nose and one on a smashed cheekbone.

‘I had to have cartilage taken from my ear to rebuild my nose and a couple of operations to scrape out the cartilage because the scar tissue wasn’t healing properly,’ calling it one of the most ‘painful operations’ he’s had.

He has notoriously battled addiction — both drugs and alcohol — in the past and has taken blame for his own career decline over the years.

Mickey has also opened up about his regret over taking steroids and eating huge meals six times a day to gain weight for his role in 2008 movie, The Wrestler. 

Meanwhile The Celebrity Big Brother house is ready for the stars to make it their home with it less than a week until the highly anticipated new series kicks off. 

Set to air on Monday 7, aerial shots have revealed the colourful house is back and ready to go as it awaits this year’s contestants. 

While the house looks incredibly similar to last series, the reality show has moved location with the 2025 set being built in Titan Studios in West London rather than the previous location in Harlesden in the North West of the capital.  

Producers have decided to make the most of the garden space once again with shots showing a large green lawn decorated with a yellow star. 

The other half of the garden sees a more chilled patio area complete with comfy couches for those deep and meaningful chats. 

The hot tub has once again made it’s return as well ready for the celebs to take a dip as the sunnier weather sets in. 

The Big Brother eye logo can also be seen as a feature window, presumably acting as as one way glass for producers and hosts Aj Odudu and Will Best to spy on contestants. 

The outdoor stage has also been re-erected, as the yellow runway was seen beneath a blue cover, ready for the live launch episode. 

There also appeared to be a new paint splattered stage built outside of the house complete with stage lights. 

It is unclear whether the mini multi-colour stage will be used during the launch or whether it is a prop ready and waiting for an upcoming challenge.  

Big Brother: Live Launch will unveil a new batch of housemates as they head into the nation’s most iconic house, which has been given a fresh lick of paint ahead of the new series.

Housemates will juggle elaborate tasks, live evictions, gripping nominations and the usual dose of drama.

Once again, the pubic will decide the fate of contestants as they vote throughout the series, with only one left standing to win the cash prize.

Jojo Siwa was the latest name to be attached to the show’s line-up. 

The American singer, who shot to stardom on the reality show Dance Moms, is said to have caused big excitement at ITV, as bosses hope she will draw a big U.S. audience.

Jojo, 21, has a huge American fan base but she will no doubt be hoping to be as big a success across the pond by winning over British viewers on the show.

The songstress has made a name for herself in the U.S. pop charts and is known for her outlandish looks and being a vocal member of the LGBTQ+ community.

Sources told MailOnline that Jojo will enter the house, alongside other rumoured contestants including Patsy Palmer, Chesney Hawkes and Angelica Bell.

Other names include Love Island’s Chris Hughes, Olympian Daley Thompson and Corrie star Jack P Shepherd, Sir Michael Fabricant, Danny Beard, Ella Rae Wise and Tommy Fury.

Macy Gray has also reportedly caused a stir once again by pulling out of the lineup, after her furious meltdown on The Masked Singer.

Sources are claiming that the singer, 57, was in talks with ITV bosses to appear on the show in a bid to rebuild her image after her short-lived Masked Singer stint.

Meanwhile  are among those rumoured to be heading into the famous house. 

A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother has said: ‘Any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation.’
