Gwen Stefani is hot for husband Blake Shelton’s farmer boy skills, the likes of which the native southern Californian says she was “never around” growing up.
During Shelton’s recent appearance on the “Michael Waddell Podcast,” host Waddell recalled a time he spent with the couple at their Oklahoma residence that “blew [him] away” and had him calling up his wife afterwards, saying, “I love Gwen.”
Waddell painted the picture of Shelton and the pop star getting ready to plant some flowers in their yard, as Shelton stepped away for a moment to fire up his skid steer, a form of compact tractor.
As the former “Voice” coach, 49, did so, Waddell said Stefani, 56, was “watching [him] like [he was] Superman.”
“You walked away and Gwen just watched you. And you went over there and cranked that tractor … and she’s just watching, and I said ‘Oh, Blake can run that skid steer.’ And Gwen’s like, ‘That’s a man.’”
“Dude, it blew me away,” Waddell continued. “I said, ‘Is that pretty cool, Gwen?’ And she said ‘I just didn’t know. I never was around that, and that is just so cool that Blake knows this stuff and can work on those tractors and work on our car.’”
Shelton — who apparently had never heard this story before — blushed as the podcast host shared how after that encounter, he finally understood their “opposites attract” dynamic.
Waddell’s praise for their relationship comes as split rumors loomed over them last month, after they didn’t attend the CMA Awards on Nov. 19, despite Shelton being nominated in the Musical Event of the Year category for his feature on the Post Malone song, “Pour Me a Drink.”
The pair has repeatedly shut those rumors down, and on Nov. 30, Shelton’s reps told Page Six, “This is a completely made-up story created solely for headlines and clicks.”
Several sources have spoken out insisting that the duo are “solid” and that there is “no truth” to any rumors of a split.
“They’ve just been juggling demanding schedules,” an insider told People on Dec 9.
Shelton and Stefani first met when they were judges on “The Voice” in 2014. By November 2015 the No Doubt frontwoman’s rep confirmed to Page Six that the two were a couple.
The lovebirds tied the knot on July 3, 2021 in an intimate ceremony on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch.
