NASCAR driver Greg Biffle was a proud dad away from the race track.

While the American motorsports racing driver was known for winning nearly 19 races during the height of his career between 2003 and 2016, Biffle was also a devoted father to two children.

Biffle became a dad in 2011 when his then-wife, Nicole Lunders, welcomed a baby girl named Emma.

“Starting to see kids around or your friends having kids makes you think differently about it,” Biffle told USA Today in June 2014. “We always thought we’d have kids but weren’t sure exactly when and then all of a sudden, your friends are like, ‘We’re going to have a baby.’ It has changed dramatically. We laugh about it. Me and [Jamie] McMurray and [Matt] Kenseth were at dinner at Watkins Glen last year, and we all brought baby seats.”

Although Biffle and Lunders separated in 2015, the NASCAR driver received a second chance at love when he married Cristina Grossu in 2023. Three years earlier, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Ryder.

“What a difference three years can make!” Grossu wrote via Instagram in 2023 after Ryder was able to see his dad race on the track. “Swipe to see us making new memories at @nwbspeedway this week 🏎️!”

Biffle’s family life made headlines when a plane belonging to the motorsports legend crashed and burst into flames in December 2025. The crash happened at Statesville Regional Airport, about a 45-minute drive from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said there were fatalities but did not immediately confirm the victims’ identities. Multiple family friends, however, revealed Biffle, Lunders and his two children had died.

As the investigation continues, keep reading to learn more about Biffle’s life as a dad:

Who Was Greg Biffle’s Daughter?

In July 2011, Biffle and Lunders welcomed a baby girl named Emma.

Just one day after his then-wife gave birth, Biffle — who was a driver of the No. 16 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing at the time — reportedly traveled to Kentucky to begin preparing for the first Sprint Cup event at the track.

As Biffle’s daughter got older, she was able to experience dad’s life on the racetrack.

“She comes every week. My wife is very strict on keeping a schedule,” Biffle told USA Today in 2014. “We always have to adjust what time we leave for her nap and when she eats. We’re not traveling before she has her nap.”

Biffle remembered Lunders initially calling fellow NASCAR wife Katie Kenseth twice a day for tips on parenthood.

“You learn a lot from each other, from baby cameras to seats,” he told the publication. “We’re all similar so a lot of what works for them works for us.”

In September 2025, Emma supported her dad as he was honored at the NC Auto Racing Hall of Fame.

In February 2020, Biffle and Grossu announced they were expecting their first child together.

“Big News for 2020!! Emma is going to be a big sister !!!” Biffle wrote via Instagram as Grossu held up a sign that read, “Buckle up! Baby Biffle coming in hot! Fall 2020.”

Since Ryder’s birth in September 2020, Grossu and Biffle have documented major milestones in their son’s life.

In September 2025, the couple threw a birthday celebration for their little boy. “Happy 5th birthday Ryder man,” Biffle wrote via Instagram at the time.
