Sunday’s 2025 Golden Globes will set the tone for an awards season that’s going to feel nonstop until it culminates with the March 2 Academy Awards. Taking place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, the Globes honor the best in both film and television, and as a result attracts an enviable concentration of stars hoping to take home a trophy that might be joined by others — a SAG Award, BAFTA’s bronze mask or an Oscar, perhaps — over the next two months.

Prognosticators agree that a Golden Globe win builds buzz that can carry over to future awards shows. With that in mind, key moments to consider include how Conclave’s Ralph Fiennes might fare against The Brutalist’s Adrien Brody in the best actor race, or whether Timothée Chalamet’s turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown might step in as the favorite. Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, meanwhile, are vying for best actress and best supporting actress, respectively, in a musical or comedy, while a good night for the film itself — which has grossed $634.4 million worldwide since its opening, setting a new record for a Broadway adaptation — likewise could bode well for its chances for subsequent nominations and awards.

Style fans also will be training a keen eye toward the red carpet, anxious to see the looks worn by the women and men who consistently top best-dressed lists. Among the most anticipated arrivals: best actress nominees Zendaya (Challengers), Demi Moore (The Substance) and Nicole Kidman (Babygirl), as well as best supporting actress nominees Selena Gomez (Emilia Pérez) and Margaret Qualley (The Substance). On the men’s side, look for Sing Sing best actor nominee Colman Domingo, Shogun best actor nominee Hiroyuki Sanada, and Jeremy Allen White, also a best actor nominee for The Bear, to make some sartorial waves with their arrivals.

Also sure to be seen early on the carpet will be 2025 Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser — from her stand-up specials, it’s clear Glaser is also a fashion fan, and so style editors will be interested in what should be her multiple changes throughout the evening.
