She’s single and ready to mingle.
Theresa Nist said she has been hit on by men who are “younger” than her son following her split from Gerry Turner.
“I do get approached through Instagram direct messages, but you wouldn’t believe how young these guys are,” the “Golden Bachelor” alum, 71, told People in an interview published on Saturday.
“They’re so young that they’re younger than my son!”
Nist said she is amazed by how persistent the younger men can be.
“But these young guys, I’m just baffled by it and they’ll persist and persist and persist. And I’m talking 33-year-olds!” she told the outlet while laughing.
The reality TV star admitted she would be open to dating someone “maybe 10 years younger” than her.
“To me, age, it doesn’t matter up to a point, [But] too young, we are just not culturally the same, we didn’t experience the same things growing up, the same music, the same movies. It’s hard to have a conversation. And I don’t think that anything is too old,” she said.
“It’s just your energy. It’s who you are basically.”
Despite being open to finding love again, Nist revealed she hasn’t been on any dates since she finalized her divorce from Turner, 73, in June.
“I have been asked, and I’ve said no. I don’t know. I’m more clear on what I want, so I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. I definitely do want to be with someone. I do,” she said.
“I think life is so much better when you’re with someone, but I know that it’s even hard for young people to find people. Imagine how much harder it gets … I’m 71. That number scares people.”
Nist and Turner captured hearts on the inaugural season of ABC’s “Golden Bachelor” in 2023 as viewers watched the couple fall in love with each other.
The pair became engaged in November 2023 during the finale episode and tied the knot two months later in a televised special.
After three months of marriage, Nist and Gerry announced they were divorcing.
In December 2024, Turner — who said he’s also still looking for love — revealed he was diagnosed with an incurable bone marrow cancer weeks before the pair broke up. However, Nist said the diagnosis didn’t play a role in their decision to part ways.
“If that was something on his part, maybe, I don’t know. But no, that didn’t factor into ending the relationship,” she told the outlet. “Part of it was the distance, but that wasn’t the only part. That’s really all I will say.”
