Geena Davis left fans gobsmacked by her shockingly youthful appearance when she made a surprise cameo as part of Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set for Coachella weekend two on Friday.
The Oscar winner showcased her taut, wrinkle-free visage as she delivered a lengthy monologue in a classic car while playing an older version of the 26-year-old singer–songwriter.
And fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they learned that Davis was 70 years old, despite looking years — possibly even decades — younger than her true age.
‘#geenadavis is 70! Iconic and flawless! #coachella #sabchella’ wrote one fan who was stunned by Davis’s age-defying appearance.
She was part of a star-studded performance that included a guest appearance from another iconic woman, Madonna, as well as a shirtless Terry Crews.
Several fans were also over the moon to see Davis in the cameo role, as her Thelma & Louise costar Susan Sarandon had played the same role during Carpenter’s week-one Coachella performance.

Davis, like Sarandon before her, sported long blond locks for her monologue in the driver’s seat to make the resemblance to Carpenter stronger.
Unlike her former costar’s angelic white coat the weekend before, Davis appeared in an elegant brown jacket.
The actress, who delivered her monologue from inside of a classic white car, recited a dramatic speech touching on bygone youth and the allure of fame.
‘It’s kind of a shame she never got to see me up onstage, maybe in a concert, in a arena or in a stadium in a foreign country,’ Davis — who was playing an older version of the headliner — said in reference to a niece, according to The Wrap.
‘I would’ve had the label send a plane for her and her parents, and they could’ve just stayed down the hall from me. And [eaten] in the most expensive restaurant in that city. It’s better she never saw me that way. It would’ve been weird,’ she continued.
On X, fans and Coachella attendees shared their astonishment at getting to see Davis on stage with Carpenter.
‘GEENA DAVIS IM OBSESSED,’ read one over-the-top post.
‘I f***ing love Geena Davis, always have. this is so f***ing crazy,’ gushed another fan.

According to The Wrap, the monologue had been significantly edited, suggesting that Carpenter may have opted to jettison some of the dialogue for a more audience-friendly approach
Some fans had complained about the lengthy monologue in the first weekend’s performance
Many fans raving over Davis’s appearance noted her role in Thelma & Louise (pictured). She and Sarandon played the title due in the 1991 film, which was directed by Ridley Scott and written by Callie Khouri
‘having susan sarandon on weekend 1 and geena davis on weekend 2 is actually wild omg,’ enthused one poster.
Some users speculated on the message that Carpenter was conveying by casting Sarandon and Davis in her show.
‘so much of sabrina’s performance is not just an homage to culture and history but to her predecessors and the women that came before her be it actresses like susan sarandon geena davis or singers like madonna she is a STUDENT of the arts through and through #sabchella,’ one fan theorized.
Last week, some fans had complained that Sarandon’s version of the monologue had been slow and plodding, but those concerns seemed to have evaporated for Davis’s performance.

‘last week’s older sabrina through susan sarandon felt mellow, a little heavy with “what ifs.” today, geena davis plays her with more nostalgia,’ mused one fan. ‘really nice seeing two icons bring such different reads to the same character!!!!! UGH SO SO GOOD.’
Many fans raving over Davis’s appearance noted her role in Thelma & Louise.
She and Sarandon played the title due in the 1991 film, which was directed by Ridley Scott and written by Callie Khouri.
Davis played Thelma, a housewife in an unhappy marriage with a domineering husband, while Sarandon played her friend Louise, a free-spirited waitress.
The two go on the run after Louise guns down a man who tries to rape Thelma, leading to a crime spree including armed robbery, before a final iconic confrontation at the edge of the Grand Canyon.
Both women were nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, while the film also received nominations for director, cinematography and film editing. Khouri won the film’s only Oscar for original screenplay.
