Gabby Logan has revealed her 20-year-old daughter was ‘horrified’ after she confessed to cheating on an ex-boyfriend in her memoir.

The presenter, 53, stars in HELLO!’s Second Act Podcast with Ateh Jewel where she talked about honesty, motherhood and her 25-year marriage to former rugby player Kenny Logan, 54.

In her book, The First Half, Gabby revealed she cheated on her boyfriend while she was at university with a German tennis player.

The broadcaster said she wanted to be honest about her infidelity so her children, twins Lois and Reuben, could acknowledge she has made mistakes in her life too.

Gabby said Lois read the book and was ‘horrified’. She said: ‘I cheated on a boyfriend and she said ‘I can’t believe you did that’.

‘I said, ‘it’s really important that you know I’ve made mistakes because you can make mistakes and come back from those things’.’

Gabby said she really misses her children who have now left home.

Elsewhere in the interview, the TV star reflected on her 25-year marriage to Kenny, who has recovered from prostate cancer.

Kenny was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022 and has since been declared cancer-free following successful surgery to remove his prostate.

She said: ‘We’re each other’s biggest fans. He’s never begrudged any career success I’ve had, he’s always really encouraged me, and that’s been wonderful.’

Gabby also spoke about the recent loss of her father footballer Terry Yorath.

Born in Cardiff, Terry played a big part in the Leeds team under Don Revie, winning the First Division title, before spells with Coventry, Tottenham and Bradford.

He died in January aged 75 following a short illness.

The night before he unexpectedly died, she read a message to him she had received from a childhood fan who recalled his kindness, a moment she says she treasured as the tributes flooded in after his passing.

The broadcaster said she wanted to be honest about her infidelity so her children, twins Lois (pictured) and Reuben, could acknowledge she has made mistakes in her life too

She said: ‘That learning to love and learning to lose, learning to experience all the full range of emotions, I think is really important.

‘You’ve got to have those times that are a little bit harder to get through and learn to come through the other side.’
