Former Dancing With The Stars contestant Roberts Nemiro from Latvia was arrested by ICE in California on Tuesday after overstaying his visa.
The Department of Homeland Security official press release additionally listed Nemiro’s criminal history, which includes arrests for sexual battery, aggravated assault and possession of drugs.
The professional dancer was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers on July 28 in San Francisco after receiving a referral by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Nemiro had appeared on the competitive reality show Dejo ar Zvaigzni!, which is the Latvian version of Dancing With The Stars.
He was previously convicted of aggravated assault of a non-family member with a gun and has past arrests for battery, sexual battery as well as drug-related offenses, per DHS.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as DHS for comment, but has yet to hear back.

Nemiro initially entered the United States back in October 2011 on a visa. But he illegally overstayed the visa when it expired the following year in August 2012.
The former DWTS contestant is currently in removal proceedings, according to the DHS press release.
Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement: ‘This illegal alien from Latvia may have once had a career as a professional dancer on TV, but has turned into a career criminal with a rap sheet that includes aggravated assault with a gun, sexual battery, and drug possession.
‘Despite California being a sanctuary state, ICE was able to arrest this criminal and get him off our streets, and he will soon be deported from our country.’
Bis continued, ‘ICE is bringing the curtain down on his illegal stay and crime spree here in the U.S.’
A GoFundMe Page was created earlier this week on Wednesday by his partner named Lydia.
She wrote, ‘On July 28, Robert and I attended our scheduled USCIS interview for his marriage-based green card application with our immigration attorney.’
Lydia added that ‘at the conclusion of the interview, ICE officers detained Robert based on a visa overstay.’

She wrote, ‘On July 28, Robert and I attended our scheduled USCIS interview for his marriage-based green card application with our immigration attorney’
His partner said that both she and Nemiro ‘followed the legal process to apply for a green card through adjustment of status after our marriage.
‘We have worked hard to do everything we could the right way, and we never imagined that attending a required immigration interview would end with our family being separated.’
The day following his arrest, Nemiro was moved to an ICE detention facility located in Bakersfield, California.
Lydia further explained that their ‘immigration attorneys work urgently to pursue every available legal avenue to secure his release.’
She added that the recent days have been ‘overwhelming’ and ‘the hardest of our lives.’
Nemiro’s wife wrote that when he is released, ‘our legal journey will be far from over.’
‘If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, your generosity will go directly toward the legal expenses required to continue Robert’s immigration case.
