Surveillance footage obtained by Page Six shows a swarm of cop cars at celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s home after he posted a disturbing video in which he appears to be covered in blood from harming himself.
Three squad cars from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office pulled up to the father-of-three’s Miami home with sirens blaring around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, a neighbor’s Ring doorbell footage shows, after police confirmed they received “multiple calls” of “an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.”
Fifteen minutes later, more law enforcement officers arrived on scene and tried to get inside.
“Mario, it’s the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, please step out of the house,” one deputy can be heard repeatedly saying, referring to the media personality by his birth name, Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.
Outside, another deputy can be seen putting on plastic gloves.
The Ring doorbell footage shows officials were still on the scene by 11:11 p.m., four hours after they first arrived.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office told Page Six deputies spoke with Hilton’s family members who were on the scene and ultimately decided to “tactfully disengage” while continuing to “monitor the situation” after confirming Hilton, 48, was alone inside.
Hilton, a father of three children, was rushed by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he received medical attention, police said.
The disturbing footage posted by Hilton shows the blogger naked, appearing to be covered in blood while holding a knife.
Hilton’s representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, said in a statement they “are aware of the concerning content circulating online” involving their client.
“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” they added.
“Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further.”
