Another F&B business in Singapore is calling it a day, with Fei Zhu Lok Lok announcing its upcoming closure in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Sept 1).
“It’s with a heavy heart that we’ll be closing Fei Zhu Lok Lok, and our last day of operation will be on Sept 13,” wrote the Malaysian-style eatery in the announcement, while thanking customers for their support over the years.
In a separate post on Wednesday, co-founder and local influencer Phyllis Seah appeared to shed more light on the reason for closure.
“To be honest, the F&B industry in Singapore is really, really tough. Unless you have a huge organisation or strong financial backing behind you, it’s really tiring,” she wrote.

“After thinking about it for a long time, I’ve finally decided to close all my outlets and bring this chapter to an end.”
Fei Zhu Lok Lok currently has two outlets — one at Ang Mo Kio and another at Toa Payoh.
Despite the closures, Phyllis added that this “isn’t completely goodbye” — as the brand will still be available for private events, company functions, house parties and pop-ups.

“So if you ever miss our food and want us at your event, you can still find me,” the 29-year-old said.
First opened in 2021 by Phyllis and her childhood friend Goh Jue Ying, Fei Zhu Lok Lok is a Malaysian-style lok lok (a type of skewer dish) eatery.
While it first started out as a hawker stall in a Tai Seng coffeeshop, the business gradually expanded over the years, with its first full-fledged restaurant opening in 2024 at Kallang Wave Mall.
It is known for its variety of lok lok options comprising picks such as Taiwan sausage, cheese tofu, broccoli and fried beancurd soy skin, all best enjoyed in its Signature Lala Soup.

The closure announcement drew disappointment from customers, with many taking to the comments section to lament the news.
“Oh no, the chilli damn shiok one[sic],” a comment read, while another said: “Why? It’s the best lok lok in Singapore.”
Meanwhile, others shared words of encouragement.
Said a commenter: “From one F&B fighter to another, much respect. It’s never an easy journey, but what you’ve built since 2021 will always be a part of your story. Wishing Fei Zhu Lok Lok all the best for the next chapter. We’ll definitely come by and support before Sept 13. Jiayou!”
