Concerning new photos of Tommy Lee Jones stepping out for the first time since his daughter’s tragic sudden death at age 34 have prompted insiders to speak out.
Victoria Jones was found who was found on the floor of San Francisco’s swanky Fairmont hotel by a fellow guest in the early hours of New Year’s Day. No official cause of death has been released but reports have emerged of a suspected overdose, following a history of cocaine and alcohol abuse.
Now, new images and footage obtained by the Daily Mail show her 79-year-old father cutting a worryingly frail figure, leaning heavily on his third wife, Dawn Laurel-Jones, and limping while out in San Antonio, Texas.
Commenting on his visibly solemn and unsteady demeanor, an insider said of the Men In Black star: ‘He is not himself right now.’
‘Tommy is heartbroken. For a tough guy and one that usually has it all together, the stress of losing a child has clearly hit him like a ton of bricks,’ the insider added.

‘Not that work would help, but he isn’t currently working on anything to keep his mind off the grief. He’s taking this time to mourn – but he’s also lived a life and has always wanted to age gracefully. And all that combined has clearly taken a toll on his appearance.’
Emergency services were called to the Fairmont hotel at approximately 2.52am on January 1, but attempts to revive Victoria were unsuccessful.
Law enforcement sources told the Daily Mail that her lips and fingernails appeared bluish when first responders arrived.
There were no immediate signs of foul play, however, no visible trauma to her body and no drug paraphernalia discovered nearby, the sources added. An autopsy is expected to provide further clarity.
Victoria had been at the hotel to ring in the new year with a small group of pals when, as one source claimed to TMZ, she started using cocaine.
On January 2, Tommy and his family released a brief statement, which read: ‘We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.’
In addition to Victoria, Tommy and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, share 43-year-old son Austin Leonard Jones.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Tommy for comment.
In the days since her death, troubling details about Victoria’s final months have emerged.
The Daily Mail exclusively obtained a June mugshot showing Victoria with what appeared to be a bruise beneath one eye after she was arrested twice last year.
The Oscar winner, who turns 80 in September, appeared visibly solemn and unsteady

Her first arrest occurred in April 2025 after Napa Valley police conducted a wellness check and charged her with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
She pleaded not guilty and was scheduled to appear in court later this month for settlement hearings.
Less than two months later, she was arrested again following a domestic violence incident at Napa’s Carneros Resort and Spa, where rooms start at around $500 per night.
Separate court filings reviewed by The Daily Mail also indicated Victoria had been accused of elder abuse. She pleaded not guilty to those charges as well.
Victoria was found dead on the 14th floor of the Fairmont San Francisco after a hotel guest reportedly mistook her for being intoxicated and alerted staff.
When employees arrived and found her unresponsive, they began CPR and called paramedics.
The Daily Mail obtained 911 audio from Broadcastify in which Victoria was described as a ‘code 3 for the overdose, color change,’ signaling an emergency response with lights and sirens.
A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department confirmed: ‘On 1/1/26 at approximately 3:14 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to a hotel located on the 900 block of Mason Street regarding a report of a deceased person.
At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased. The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation.’

Victoria was born on September 3, 1991, and made her screen debut at age 11 with a small role in her father’s film Men in Black II.
She later appeared in a 2005 episode of One Tree Hill and in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which was directed by her father.
Though she stepped away from acting as an adult, Victoria occasionally joined Jones on the red carpet, including at the 2017 premiere of Just Getting Started and the Tokyo International Film Festival later that year, where Jones served as president of the international competition jury.
After directing his daughter in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Jones praised her talents in interviews, calling her ‘a good actress’ who spoke ‘impeccable Spanish,’ and once shared a candid anecdote about briefly ‘firing’ her from the film when she refused to get out of bed for a 5 a.m. call time.
