Farah Khan, a known Bollywood director and popular TV host, is currently busy hosting reality show Celebrity MasterChef. However, a comment she made on the show has landed her in legal trouble. As per the latest reports, a criminal complaint has been filed against Farah Khan for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments. Vikas Fhatak aka Hindustani Bhau is said to have lodged a complaint against her for calling the festival of Holi a ‘festival for Chaapris’.
On Celebrity MasterChef, Farah Khan made a remark saying “Chaapri logon ka favourite festival hota hai Holi.” The word ‘Chaapri’ comes with a negative connotation and Farah Khan is being slammed on social media for her choice of words. The matter has escalated and a complaint has been filed against her by Bigg Boss 13 contestant Hindustani Bhau. As reported by news agency IANS, Hindustani Bhau filed complaint in Khar Police station demanding legal action against Farah Khan for her controversial remark. The complaint was allegedly filed on February 21. As per the report, Hindustani Bhau’s lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh said, “My client believes that Farah Khan’s comment was not only disrespectful but also has the potential to create communal disharmony. Using the term ‘chhapris’ to describe a sacred festival is highly inappropriate.”
