Hollywood’s glossiest names have been dragged into the It Ends with Us fallout – and this time, it’s their private words doing the damage.

Freshly unsealed court documents from the Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni legal war have blown the lid off a trove of texts and emails the A-listers involved never expected to see daylight.

The messages surfaced as part of Lively’s 2024 lawsuit, in which she accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment, retaliation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress – allegations he flatly denies.

Obtained by the Daily Mail, the filings expose candid exchanges from Lively’s inner circle, offering an unusually raw glimpse behind Hollywood’s velvet rope.

From Taylor Swift firing off insults to Ryan Reynolds’ oddly effusive private emails – and Baldoni reportedly bringing Britney Spears into the conversation  – the documents read less like legal filings and more like a celebrity group chat gone rogue.

Lively and co-star Brandon Sklenar unload on Baldoni

Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Brandon Sklenar appeared to torch Baldoni in their private text exchange.

In the messages, the pair, who played lovers in the film, initially chat about television work before the conversation shifts to their experiences during production.

Lively alleges Baldoni entered an editing bay to view her cut of the film ‘without authorization’, after she had already completed her own edit.

In the exchange obtained by the Daily Mail, Lively writes, ‘He’s bats***,’ while Sklenar comments that Baldoni is ‘definitely scrambling’ and ‘totally f***ing himself for any future work’.

Should celebs’ private messages ever be revealed in court battles, or does it cross a moral line?

Lively then responds, ‘Oh you don’t know the first of it’, before unleashing further claims against Baldoni.

According to the unsealed exchange, she texted: ‘Yeah the crazy thing is I would’ve continued to let him take credit for everything . He would’ve been handed a career. He would’ve been f***ing on his next job, but he at least would have been a big sucesss [sic].

‘And he’ll still hit. But the word is out. And I’ve been protecting it from getting out bc all I want to do is focus on the work and not be pulled into the f***ing mess they make.

‘But they wreck [sic] havoc everywhere they go. And everyone sees it. Then they come to me.’

Lively then recalls a moment on set when Baldoni allegedly leaned in and told Sklenar he had something to say but stopped himself, warning he would ‘probably get canceled’ and remarking that ‘you can’t say anything on this set anymore’.

Sklenar replies that he vaguely remembers the exchange, though he says he does not recall whether Baldoni ever explained what he meant.

Lively then claims Baldoni frequently attempted to pull others into what she characterizes as his ‘messiness’, framing the comment as her personal impression of his conduct.

Later in the conversation, Sklenar says he is baffled by what he views as Baldoni’s lack of foresight, particularly in light of his public persona shaped by TED-style talks, podcasts and books.

Lively responds that the contrast ‘makes perfect sense’ to her, alleging Baldoni was ‘running from something gnarly’ while presenting a more polished image publicly.

Blake Lively’s ‘greatest friend ever’ Taylor Swift calls Justin Baldoni a ‘b****’

Lively’s private text exchanges with Swift have been dragged into the legal fallout, pulling one of pop culture’s most powerful friendships squarely into the dispute.

The unsealed messages show the longtime friends privately venting about Baldoni.

According to court filings, Lively dismissed Baldoni as the ‘doofus director of my movie,’ with Swift rushing in to back her up, replying: ‘I’ll do anything for you!’

After a fraught meeting over proposed script changes, Lively followed up by praising Swift as the ‘absolute greatest friend ever.’

In other texts, Swift offered advice about music placement in the film while questioning Baldoni’s strategy behind the scenes.

And just before a New York Times exposé detailing Lively’s allegations was set to drop in December 2024, Swift delivered her sharpest jab yet, writing: ‘I think this b**** [Baldoni] knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin.’

Ryan Reynolds ‘cringe’ email sent to It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover

Ryan Reynolds (L) was roasted by fans over the ‘cringe’ email he wrote to It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover (R)

The actor found himself under fire after a long, profane email he sent to the bestselling novelist was unsealed – and readers were quick to recoil.

The message, dated just one day after the film’s August 10, 2024 premiere, appeared among exhibits in the ongoing legal fight tied to the adaptation.

In the email obtained by the Daily Mail, he crowed that the movie was a ‘complete f***ing WIN’ while slipping in a pointed jab, joking that being sick in New York was the body ‘ridding itself of any residual Baldoni.’

He then launched into a breathless monologue praising the film’s success, calling it ‘on fire everywhere’ and applauding the creative team for making something ‘gorgeous’ out of ‘ingredients you didn’t ask for.’

The tone only escalated from there, with musings about ‘rare air,’ ‘apex storytellers,’ and watching ‘good people put s****y people over their knee’ in what he framed as a triumphant moment.

Online, the reaction was far less flattering, with fans side-eyeing the intensity of his involvement and slapping the email with labels like ‘cringe’ and ‘egotistical’.

One commenter summed it up best, quipping: ‘All of a sudden I appreciate my husband’s one-word text responses.’

Justin Baldoni’s creepy Britney Spears comment

The texts then turn to another alleged exchange, where Lively and Slate discuss their admiration for Spears before Baldoni reportedly made a disturbing comment about the singer (Spears in 2002)

Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Jenny Slate appear to discuss Baldoni’s alleged on-set misconduct in the newly unsealed texts, including a bizarre comment he made about Britney Spears.

Slate tells Lively about what she calls Baldoni’s ‘unprofessional behavior’ and the ‘weird stuff he pulled’ during the first half of filming.

‘I mean, even him recording our conversation on his phone without asking us first,’ Lively chimed in.

She then called it ‘alarming behavior,’ recalling, ‘You were standing there for the thing he said to me when he said I look hot. I said that’s not what I’m going for, and he said “ok sexy.” Then he made a joke, asked if he crossed a line, and I said yes – he must’ve missed the sexual harassment meeting.’

The texts then turn to another alleged exchange, where Lively and Slate discuss their admiration for Spears before Baldoni reportedly made a disturbing comment about the singer.

Slate agreed with Lively’s recollection of the Spears comment in the text exchange

‘And then later when you said you used to stare at Britney Spears midsection for hours (before you finished and said what an athlete she was and how remarkable she seemed as a young girl) he jumped in and said “same” and giggled but then eye rolled when we just looked at him,’ Lively texted.

Slate replied, ‘Yes exactly. Those are two perfect examples, the first one an example of a total overstep and unwanted comment, the second is such a great example of how now i just feel inclined to shut down be i don’t want to invite any other comments from him, it’s just gross and stupid.’

Taylor Swift calls out ‘shift’ in Blake Lively friendship

The court documents reveal that Lively reached out to Swift to confront the tension that had developed between them.

The 36-year-old pop superstar and the 38-year-old Gossip Girl actress had reportedly drifted apart during Lively’s intense legal battle with Baldoni.

The newly publicized texts show the two discussing the negative ‘shift’ in their friendship that stemmed from Lively’s sexual harassment suit against Baldoni and his defamation countersuit.

Court papers also reveal Swift and Lively attempting to mend their friendship after Swift expressed that Lively’s messages had started to feel like a ‘mass corporate email.’

According to the filings, it was Lively who initiated the reconciliation, sending Swift messages on December 4, 2024.

‘I have no reason to ask, but I donno, I’ve been feeling like I should… is everything ok?’ Lively wrote.

‘I felt like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own s*** for months. You were generous to not only be the key person there for me during all of it, but also to let me off the hook for being so in it.’

‘I felt so stupid and like it sounded needy and awkward for everyone, especially bc [sic] I can’t explain why I have this feeling,’ Lively continued.

‘I do want to know everything is good, so I’m asking. I always want the opportunity to be a better friend if there’s something I unintentionally did. I know how busy and taxed you are – physically, emotionally, practically, so I don’t expect any more from you ever.’

In her reply, Swift acknowledged that Lively wasn’t wrong about the state of their friendship, while also reassuring her it wasn’t as serious as it might seem.

‘I think I’m just exhausted in every avenue of my life and in recent months had been feeling a little bit of a shift in the way you talk to me,’ Swift admitted. ‘Yes, there has been a lot of Justin stuff but I’ve been through things like this before and I know how all consuming it is.’

Ryan Reynolds slams ‘dumb-dumb’ Baldoni to agent

Reynolds didn’t hold back about Baldoni, calling him a ‘dumb-dumb’ and insisting that his wife Lively deserved the credit.

‘She WILLED this weekend into reality,’ the Deadpool star wrote in a message to agent Warren Zavala on August 9, 2024 – right around the film’s blockbuster debut.

In the texts, Reynolds vented about Baldoni and his team failing to publicly own up to reports of on-set tension.

Reynolds didn’t hold back about Baldoni, calling him a ‘dumb-dumb’ and insisting that his wife Lively deserved the credit

‘Baldoni and these other buckets of dumb-dumb-juice should be acknowledging the speculation and gossip themselves,’ Reynolds wrote. ‘They should be jumping in front of it in the most full throated, unqualified way. Now.’

He went on to outline how Lively should be shielded from negative press, insisting she ‘should not be subjected to some eye-roll-y narrative of the “controlling b****”,’ following early stories of discord on set.

Reynolds argued that Baldoni and his team ‘should be protecting’ Lively, adding: ‘They can and should accept the consequences of their actions and lean into the countless and willfully gross behavior before it leans into them.’

‘They made a big fing mess. Blake – under NO CIRCUMSTANCES – should be asked to clean up this sloppy, cliched fstorm,’ he continued.

Reynolds admitted he was ‘super frustrated because this is a moment in which Blake should be celebrating,’ stressing that ‘she made this unbelievable win happen. She made this a win for Sony and by proxy, Wayfarer.’

He detailed Lively’s dedication to the film, noting she ‘fing refused to give up on the film’ as she ‘didn’t sleep’ and ‘missed countless moments with her kids while sitting in edit rooms, scrapping and frame fing dailies for every square inch of quality.’

The Vancouver, Canada-born actor said his wife ‘slammed together a recipe for success despite working with ingredients she wasn’t even able to choose.

‘All this while masterminding a world class marketing and promo plan for a movie that’s punching so far above its weight I’ve lost descriptors to even describe what’s happening.’

Reynolds also called out Baldoni’s clashes with others on set: ‘Every cast member and key crew member (including Colleen) won’t be in the same room as the guy. All of them have at some point, over the last six months, unfollowed him on social media. Not one person has said Justin’s name out loud in any interview at any time.’

Jenny Slate slams Baldoni as a ‘false ally’ and ‘fraud’

Slate described her experience making It Ends With Us as far from positive, calling it ‘a really gross and disturbing shoot’ in a series of texts sent to a close confidante.

The 43-year-old actress was questioned about these messages during a deposition in New York City on September 26, 2025.

The deposition included a review of texts Slate sent to her former agent detailing her time on the set. Slate, who played Allysa in the film, was openly critical of both Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath, repeatedly questioning their professionalism.

‘It’s like fascinating and also so s*****. Justin and Jamey [Heath] are truly unfit,’ she wrote.

The Milton, Massachusetts-born actress also mentioned Lively in multiple texts, expressing concern for her friend and co-star while filming the romantic drama under Baldoni’s direction.

‘I’m not scared or anything, just repulsed and deeply irritated, and I know Blake is experiencing that on a much more serious level,’ Slate said.

Slate revealed her disbelief that Baldoni went on to give a TED talk in December 2017 following her experience on the set.

‘I really don’t get how he did a TED Talk,’ she said. ‘He is worse than most of the bros I’ve encountered, not because he’s predatory but because of his general fragility and misogyny, like not seeming to be aware of any of the obvious no-no’s.’

She added that Baldoni had cultivated a false image of himself as a feminist, something she refused to support.

‘Justin is truly a false ally and I’m unwilling to do anything that promotes the image that he’s crafting as a “male feminist,”‘ Slate said. ‘Honestly I have no words to describe what a fraud he is. I honestly have never ever encountered anything like this dude. He’s the biggest clown and the most intense narcissist. Lots of lessons learned!’
