Emily Seebohm has clapped back after a troll slammed her for allowing her son to sit on the lap of her new partner in a family Christmas photo.
The image shows the Olympic swimmer, 33, posing with her two-year-old son Sampson, who she shares with her ex, Married At First Sight star Ryan Gallagher, in a sweet Santa portrait.
The pair are accompanied by Emily’s new boyfriend, Brandon Caust, with the toddler choosing to sit on Brandon’s lap.
Emily posted the photo to Instagram over the festive holiday with the simple caption ‘Merry Christmas’.
However, not everyone loved it, with one follower commenting: ‘I actually find this disrespectful to your son’s father.
‘Sure have a photo together, but have your boy sit on your lap.’

The athlete was quick to reply: ‘Thanks for the feedback, but my son chose where he wanted to sit. It’s not about anyone apart from him.’
A second comment from the same troll read: ‘Oh, I thought you were the adult and should teach your son about feelings and appearances.’
Emily did not offer a second reply, but added in a caption on Instagram Stories: ‘Wow, some people’ alongside a facepalm emoji.
The swimmer and her ex Ryan made headlines in November when their split was confirmed after months of it being an open secret.
A recent social media post seemed to allude that relations between the reality star, 37, and the swimmer may have soured in the wake of their break-up.
The former MAFS groom, who was on season 5 of the hit Aussie series, took to his Instagram earlier this month to share a heart-warming image, showing him and his son Sampson, who he shares with his gold medallist ex-fiancée.
In the sweet photo, the father and son duo were seen beaming as they posed alongside Santa Claus at a festive-themed meet and greet.
However, Emily was nowhere to be seen.
It was just a year before when the happy family of three smiled alongside Father Christmas for a festive snap altogether.

Emily’s absence from the special family moment this year seemingly raises question marks over whether the couple are on good terms or not.
The Instagram post comes just a couple of days after Emily hard launched her new relationship with Brandon Caust.
‘Surprise,’ Emily captioned a post, which showed the new couple gleaming beside each other in the photographs, clearly besotted with each other.
One snap showed the couple dressed to the nines, with the swimmer wearing a glittering frock beside her suited-up beau at a charity gala.
Other pictures showed them at a Brisbane Bullets NBL game, out for dinner and bonding with Emily’s son, Sampson.
Not much is known about Emily’s new man, however, she first sent tongues wagging about her new relationship in October, sharing a sneaky image while holding hands at the aforementioned basketball game.
Her ex Ryan finally confirmed their split following months of it being an open secret.
The reality star admitted to his Instagram followers in November that he was back on the dating scene.
Ryan and Emily, who were engaged in 2022, had been the subject of split rumours since April
‘I went on a date on Sunday, I don’t go on too many dates, I’ve only just sort of started doing that,’ Ryan said.
While not revealing the identity of his date, Ryan went on to explain the rendezvous went completely wrong, with his date saying their ‘energies didn’t align’.
Ryan and Emily, who were engaged in 2022, had been the subject of split rumours since April.
The pair first raised eyebrows when they unfollowed each other on Instagram, with Ryan removing Emily from his feed.
A source told Sky News Australia the pair had called it quits, two years after welcoming Sampson into the world.
‘Ryan and Emily are trying to find a new normal, which has been a real process,’ the insider told the publication.
‘Their number one priority is Sampson and ensuring he continues to feel supported by both parents. They haven’t felt the need to make public statements.’
The publication also reported Ryan had relocated to Brisbane and was living on his own after the split.
