Emily Maynard’s husband Tyler Johnson is sharing his excitement about his family’s latest addition.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, January 23, Johnson uploaded a carousel of photos of Maynard’s daughter Ricki Hendrick, 20, and her new baby.
“We became grandparents today!! The feeling is inexpressible 🤍🤍🤍. This is love,” Johnson, 39, captioned the post.
Along with photos of Johnson and Maynard, 39, holding their new granddaughter, the post featured a number of photos of Hendrick in the hospital, including several showing Hendrick and Carter Dyer, who appears to be the father of the child. (Hendrick has never publicly disclosed the identity of her baby’s father.)
Other photos show Hendrick’s extended family visiting the newborn in hospital following her birth.
In the comments section of Johnson’s post, Hendrick responded, “Love you so much❤️❤️❤️
Johnson also reposted a photo of the baby via his Instagram Story, gushing, “What a day. No words. Just every ounce of love I have for my baby and her baby.”
Hendrick confirmed the arrival of her first baby earlier on Friday via Instagram, writing, “Best day ever,” alongside a photo of her doctor showing her the newborn shortly after giving birth.
In August 2025, Hendrick announced she was expecting her first child. At the time, she posted an ultrasound photo via her Instagram Story alongside a quote from Love Island USA’s Huda Mustafa: “Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it.” She later revealed she was expecting a baby girl.
Hendrick also shared her mom’s reaction to her pregnancy news with her followers in September 2025.
After Hendrick was asked by a follower what her mom thought about Hendrick welcoming a baby “outside of marriage,” Maynard appeared in a video with Hendrick and sarcastically said: “I cannot believe anybody would ever do that. Unforgivable.”
Directly after that post, Hendrick shared another video via her Instagram Story and was equally sarcastic when speaking about how her mother took the news of her pregnancy.
“My mom is truthfully so devastated, she’s so upset,” Hendrick joked as she panned the camera over to the various items Maynard had bought, including a new crib and book about grandmothers.
Hendrick continued, “She’s not excited at all for me to have a baby. She’s pissed, actually. She’s super angry. She can’t even look at me. She doesn’t support it at all. She is pissed.”
The new mom is the only child of Maynard and her late fiancé, Ricky Hendrick, a NASCAR driver who died in a plane crash in 2004 at 24 years old when Maynard, then 19, was pregnant with Ricki.
After appearing on The Bachelor in 2011 and The Bachelorette in 2012 and failing to find long-lasting love with her on-screen suitors, Maynard ultimately went on to marry Johnson in 2014.
Maynard and Johnson welcomed five children together: Jennings, Gibson, Gatlin, Magnolia and Jones in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2022, respectively.
The Bachelorette alum publicly shared her devotion to Johnson in a touching tribute posted via Instagram in April 2025.
“My guy. Tyler, you are the single greatest gift to me in my lifetime and I can’t believe that I get to call you mine,” Maynard wrote at the time. “You’re truly the best. The best dad. The best husband. The best person. We’ve been through so much together already and I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for our family. I love you!”
