Singapore-headquartered British technology company Dyson — popular for its household appliances such as vacuum cleaners and air purifiers — has ventured into oral care.
And it’s not just about brushing, flossing and rinsing.
Dyson’s new CameraJet is marketed as an electric toothbrush and flosser that is equipped with a 100,000-pixel (0.1 megapixel) macro-lens camera that analyses up to 28 images per second.
Coupled with an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm, the toothbrush is designed to identify and target gaps between teeth.
It also features a conical jet for precision flossing, which Dyson says removes plaque more effectively.
Using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, users can view live footage from inside their mouths while brushing through the MyDyson app.
Introducing its latest product in a video, Dyson described it as a “camera-viewing, livestreaming, tooth-scanning, gap-finding, liquid-flossing, jet-washing, plaque-blasting, technique-teaching, bacteria-battering” oral care device.

According to Dyson, its engineers partnered with the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Dentistry to develop “proxy plaque”, a synthetic material used for testing.
This allowed the team to test and iterate the CameraJet’s plaque-removal capabilities, without the need to run multiple clinical trials on human subjects.
The device, which retails for $699, is now available for purchase in Singapore via Dyson’s official website in two colour options — Ceramic Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink.
Dyson has also launched non-foaming toothpaste and low-foaming mouth rinse designed for use with the CameraJet. The toothpaste is available in three variants, while the mouth rinse comes in two flavours. Prices start from $15.
