Dylan Sprouse is laughing off his scary home invasion incident.
The former Disney Channel star attended the “Devil Wears Prada 2” New York City premiere with his wife, model Barbara Palvin, on Monday, when they were asked about the security incident that took place Friday at their Hollywood Hills, California, home.
Sprouse tackled a home invader who tried to break into their estate and held the suspect at gunpoint before restraining the burglar until police arrived.
The couple gave an update after an E! News interviewer told them she’s glad they’re OK.
“I thought it was pretty funny,” Sprouse surprisingly commented.
When the interviewer asked if it wasn’t too soon to joke about it, Sprouse replied, “I’m really — this is actually to my detriment — I’m really not a ‘too soon’ guy in general. We’re laughing at things the moment they happen.”
“You have to have some levity in life,” he added. “And thankfully no one was hurt and there was no more violence than what happened, and so it’s all OK.”
Palvin took a similar stance, noting that they were “dealing with the trauma with jokes, and fun, and all that.”
An alleged trespasser targeted Sprouse’s home shortly after midnight Friday, leading him to confront the suspect and wrangle him to the ground, according to a photographer on the scene.
Palvin, 32, then called 911.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed a report of the burglary at 12:37 a.m. Friday to The California Post and said the suspect was arrested.
A source close to Sprouse, 33, told TMZ that the actor was shaken up but not injured following the wild confrontation.
The following day, Palvin was snapped dressed casually for an outing at Griffith Park in Los Angeles, appearing to be in good spirits despite the incident.
Sprouse bought their four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in 2021. It’s valued at nearly $2 million
The “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” alum has been married to Palvin since July 2023.
