Just a day after his release from police custody, Don Lemon was the toast of Clive Davis’ famous pre-Grammys bash, receiving words of support from everyone from Nancy Pelosi to Busta Rhymes.
The former CNN anchor-turned-indie journalist seemed care-free as he arrived at the music mogul’s annual celebration at the Beverly Hills Hilton with his husband Tim Malone by his side.
Pelosi greeted Lemon and told him that, after being charged with conspiring to deprive rights for livestreaming while anti-ICE protesters entered a church in Minnesota, he’s become the face of the First Amendment, a spy told Page Six. “Don then asked her if there will be an election in 2026, and she said, ‘yes’,” the source added.
Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents on Thursday night after attending the 2026 Recording Academy Honors in Los Angeles.
He’s hitting the awards circuit for his YouTube show, and was spotted hanging out with Busta Rhymes before his arrest.
The duo reunited at Davis’ bash on Saturday, where the rapper told him, “They have put you in the spotlight. And it may seem tough now, but they can’t stop you.”
Davis gave Lemon, who is a regular at Davis’ bash, a shout-out over the microphone as one of the VIPs in the room, and the crowd gave him thunderous applause and a standing ovation.
The bash brought out Lizzo, Gayle King, Denise Rich, Lorraine Schwartz, Heidi Klum, Paris Jackson, Rita Wilson, Suzanne de Passe, Teyana Taylor, Jon Batiste, Jennifer Hudson, Gladys Knight, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Colman Domingo, Tyla, Sandra Lee, Max Tucci, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne, and Diplo and Chet Hanks, who were figuring out their evening plans during a bathroom break.
Lemon was even spotted cutting a rug during Olivia Dean’s performance. He and his husband were a no-show at Davis’ unofficial after party at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel that brought out Kathy Hilton and Jeff Beacher.
The couple also skipped Davis’ friends-and-family dinner at the hotel the night before, when Lemon was released.
Liza Minnelli was the guest of honor, throwing back glasses of wine and having a ball, we’re told. The legendary singer held court with Nikki Haskell and at one point in the evening, Davis put her on the spot and had her sing a song, we’re told.
