Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia’s wife, Kayla Vesia, is sharing an update after grieving the loss of their baby.
“You know, I don’t have much to say, honestly,” Kayla, 29, said in a TikTok video shared Friday, January 2. “Alex and I are trying to get through it everyday. Every day is so different for us, and I don’t really have the words.”
Kayla and Alex, 29, announced in November 2025 that their “beautiful daughter went to heaven.”
“There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her,” the couple captioned a social media statement at the time. “Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them.”
As Alex and Kayla grieved their loss, he sat out the entirety of the Dodgers’ World Series championship last fall. (The Dodgers, who kept the Vesias in their thoughts throughout the tournament, eventually took home the trophy over the Toronto Blue Jays.)
“I share a lot of Alex and I’s life on here [and] it just felt right to come and say thank you,” Kayla said in her TikTok upload. “I am really grateful for the community of you guys just expressing your support and love for us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.”
Kayla, wiping away tears, further admitted that she wasn’t sure how her future social media content would reflect her new normal.
“[I don’t know] what this content is going to look like going forward, but I do want to share my journey,” Kayla said. “I don’t know how much I’m gonna share, I don’t know the details, but I do know I want to share if it can help somebody who’s going through the same thing feel like they’re not alone.”

She continued, “I don’t want to come on the internet and cry. I don’t think that’s fun for anyone. I think it will be a good outlet to be able to talk and share, different from me and Alex talking [or us] talking with our therapist. It’s just a different outlet. Right now, I don’t have a whole lot to say, just that I am really grateful for you guys and showing so much support and love to us during this time.”
According to Kayla, she wanted to post a brief video to “check in” and “say thank you” for all the supportive messages.
“I don’t know what [my social content] is going to look like moving forward, but I did want to come in and check in — and the biggest thing [was] to say thank you,” Kayla stated, further advising her followers to “be prepared for everything” during their own pregnancies.
“I was prepared for whatever was going to happen. I wasn’t prepared for not taking my baby home,” she tearfully said. “I don’t know what the [new] year is going to bring. I’ll slowly be getting back on here. Love you guys, and that’s about it for right now.”
