The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially submitted a closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput‘s demise case. The report was filed before a special court in Mumbai. Senior Advocate Satish Maneshinde who has been practicing at the Bombay High Court has stated the CBI’s findings. He said, “After nearly four and a half years of extensive investigation, the CBI has concluded its inquiry into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and filed a closure report. We appreciate the diligence and thoroughness with which the CBI scrutinized every possible angle before arriving at this decision. The vast amount of misinformation spread across social and digital media was entirely unwarranted. During the pandemic, when most people were confined to their homes with little else happening in the country, television and social media became breeding grounds for baseless speculation. Innocent individuals were relentlessly targeted and dragged into the spotlight by the media and law enforcement. I sincerely hope such incidents do not recur in future cases. I urge media leaders to introspect on their role in this matter.”
He added, “Today, I can share that I am proud to have defended a Fauji Family pro bono, and that should rest with the kind of speculative narration about my fees. I also thank a large section of the media for having supported me and Rhea’s cause and her fight for justice. This country is still very safe, and every citizen crying for justice has hope due to our vibrant judiciary”.
Rhea hails from Bengaluru and her father, Indrajit, was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army. Bollywood popular star Sushant was discovered deceased in his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14, 2020 at the age of 34. Hs father, K.K. Singh, lodged a complaint with the Bihar Police and alleged abetment to suicide. The CBI took over the case and investigative team recorded testimonies from his closed ones.
