Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya never shows inhibitions in putting forth his opinions. A few days back, the singer had slammed the music maestro AR Rahman and held him culpable for overusing technology. He also accused Rahman for butchering musicians’ careers due to the overuse of technology. Abhijeet was speaking to ANI when he hit out at Rahman for disrespecting fellow artists and undermining instrument players with his tech-heavy production while creating music. Amidst the recent controversy, AR Rahman has finally shared his reaction to Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s recent claims against him.

During a recent chat with India Today Digital, AR Rahman showed no qualms in saying that people often hold him responsible for everything. Even though he was slammed by Abhijeet, the Academy Award-winning musician maintained that he still loves him. During his chat with the portal, AR Rahman said, “It’s nice to blame me for everything. I still love Abhijeet, and I would send cakes to him. Also, it’s his opinion, and there’s nothing wrong with having one.”

AR Rahman – who has composed music for movies such as Rockstar, Taal, Rangeela, Tamasha, Lagaan – further explained that the technology is used because it plays a key role in refining music. As Rahman said, they can’t afford to get musicians to play and turn them down later. While talking about his work on his projects, AR Rahman added, “I recently set up an orchestra with 60 women in Dubai. They are being employed every month and are being paid insurance, health, and everything. In every movie that I do, be it ‘Chhaava’ or ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, there are close to 200-300 musicians involved, and some songs have more than 100 people working on them. I don’t show off or post photos with them, and thus [no one gets to know about it.”

AR Rahman’s last projects included Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhava and Tamil film Kadhalikka Neramillai. He will be composing music for Aamir Khan’s production Lahore 1947, Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life and Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishq Mein
