Skye Wheatley has described the past 48 hours as the ‘worst two days’ of her life after being charged with mid-range drink-driving on the Gold Coast.
The former Big Brother Australia star, 32, shared a series of emotional updates with her Instagram followers as she continued to process the fallout from the incident.
On Tuesday, Skye thanked friend Tara Stafford for supporting her through what she described as an intensely distressing period.
‘Thank you for looking after me after the worst 2 days of my life, I’m realising how HORRIBLE and scary people can be in this world,’ she wrote alongside a photograph of the pair relaxing with face masks.
‘I’m actually still processing what has gone down in the last two days, never felt so anxious, sad, numb and in shock before…’
In another update, the mother-of-two said she was considering sharing the full story with her followers, but remained shocked by what had happened.

‘Also still processing wtaf just happened to me and if we should do a story time because I’m in proper shock,’ she wrote.
Despite her distress, Skye suggested she and Stafford were trying to lift their spirits.
‘We have some crazy locking in to do tomorrow, if you don’t laugh you’ll cry and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,’ she said.
A subsequent post showed Skye in bed with a bowl of chocolates and lollies, which she said had been brought to her by her parents and Stafford.
‘I have not stopped stuffing my face, I dunno what’s going on, eating my feelings I guess but it’s so wholesome at least,’ she captioned the image.
Skye did not elaborate on her comment about how ‘horrible and scary’ people could be, nor did she identify any individual.
The emotional posts come after the influencer broke her silence on a mid-range drink-driving charge, saying she was deeply disappointed in herself and prepared to face the consequences.
Skye allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.119 on Saturday while parked outside a McDonald’s and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 24.

She previously told the Daily Mail she had made a ‘really poor decision’ and hoped speaking publicly about the incident would encourage others to think twice before getting behind the wheel after drinking.
‘There isn’t an excuse for what happened. I take responsibility for my actions and I know I have to deal with the consequences,’ she said.
Skye said she had been parked outside the Gold Coast fast-food restaurant for approximately four hours in an attempt to sober up when a passerby contacted police.
Officers subsequently approached her and asked her to take a breathalyser test.
While Skye said the circumstances provided context, she stressed they did not excuse her decision.
‘I don’t want this to become about making excuses,’ she said.
‘I made the wrong decision. That’s what I have to take responsibility for, and that’s what I’m doing.’
The Daily Mail understands Skye has begun seeking professional support and has been provided with information about programs offering access to therapy, psychologists, doctors and other services.

She said the incident had also prompted her to examine her relationship with alcohol and make changes to prevent anything similar from happening again.
‘I don’t just want to say sorry because I’ve been caught in a bad situation and then forget about it,’ she said.
‘I want to learn something from this and actually make changes so I’m never sitting in this position again.’
Skye, who rose to fame on Big Brother Australia in 2014, is due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on August 24 over the charge.
‘If you’re questioning whether you’re okay to drive, don’t,’ she said.
‘Get an Uber, call someone, leave the car where it is. Whatever inconvenience that causes is nothing compared to what can happen when you make the wrong decision.’
