Taylor Swift’s heartfelt 20-minute vows to her now-husband, Travis Kelce, reportedly left the athlete “very emotional” and in tears at their Madison Square Garden ceremony.

“Taylor talked about how Travis was the guy in high school who, even though he was the star athlete, would go sit with the less-popular kids who were being bullied at lunchtime,” an insider told People Monday.

“And Taylor talked about how she wished she knew someone like that when she was in high school. It was so special.”

Here’s latest on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at MSG:

A second source shared that “Travis was very emotional during the vows,” with another guest telling NBC News, “You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional.”

Swift, 36, reportedly became “tearful” when Kelce, also 36, “promised to protect her forever,” per the Daily Mail.

The Kansas City Chiefs star appeared “nervous” while professing his love to the Grammy winner in front of around 1,000 spectators, but managed to “keep it together,” a source told the outlet.

“Good Morning America” co-host George Stephanopoulos, who attended the ceremony, described the vows as “everything you would hope for. Real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving.”

Journalist Robin Roberts chimed in on the conversation, sharing that the Madison Square Garden ceremony was “really intimate” — noting that the couple invited their high school friends and neighbors, similarly to “any wedding you would attend.”

“[It was] as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden. … It’s hard to imagine a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal,” Stephanopoulos agreed.

Additionally, comedian Adam Sandler, who officiated the wedding, gave Swift and Kelce the marriage advice to “kiss every chance” they get to avoid any problems, per Chiefs coach Andy Reid.

“In a simply, hysterical way, he was a phenomenal … he’s crazy, but he did a great job in getting them married with a lot of humor but that part there I thought, pretty good advice, in its simplest form,” Reid told CNN Sunday.

The newlyweds, who got engaged in August 2025, also gifted guests embroidered handkerchiefs with the location and date of the nuptials in case they needed to wipe their tears.

Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, Bradley Cooper, Tom Brady and Machine Gun Kelly were also among the star-studded attendees.

Ahead of the ceremony, insiders told Page Six that Swift and Kelce were “already married.”

A source explained that there were rumors the duo legally tied the knot in Tennessee.
