Mediacorp actress Denise Camillia Tan put her endurance and stamina to the test on the morning of Sept 12, scaling 40 storeys in just 16 minutes — all for a good cause.
A Facebook post by her management company The Celebrity Agency showed clips of her making her way up the One Raffles Quay building, with several people dressed in black cheering her on from different floors.
The post captioned: “Forty storeys, 16 mins — well done Denise Camillia.
“As a Club Rainbow (Singapore) ambassador, Denise joined Reach for Rainbow 2026 Climb Day, flagging off the waves before taking on the challenge herself! Climbing for a meaningful cause, one step at a time.”
Denise, who turns 34 in November, told Shin Min Daily News that she also participated in the event last year and wanted to challenge herself with a higher climb this round, marking her first time taking on 40 floors.
While she initially felt fine, she reportedly began feeling breathless and fatigued after the 20th floor. However, the encouragement from the other participants kept her going and she successfully completed the climb.
After reaching the finish line, Denise checked her watch and saw that she had clocked a time of 16 minutes. She remarked: “I’m actually quite pleased to achieve a result like this on my first attempt.”
Since 2022, she has been an ambassador for Club Rainbow (Singapore), a non-profit organisation that supports children with chronic or life-threatening illness and their families.
After interacting with the beneficiaries, Denise realised that they are much stronger and more resilient than people might imagine.
She said: “They face life with a very positive attitude, and I hope to use my influence and voice to raise awareness and foster greater understanding of them among the public.”
Denise, who clinched her third win in the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes category at this year’s Star Awards, has reportedly taken part in various activities with the charity, including collaborating with Aaron Tan, a young artist with Pfeiffer syndrome, attending baking workshops and completing a 60km cycling challenge.
