David Beckham’s mother-in-law, Jackie Adams, got up close and personal with the soccer legend’s latest underwear ad for Hugo Boss.
Beckham revealed during the inaugural MIP London event on Tuesday the “embarrassing” moment Adams told him that she and her friends were “zooming in” on the photos and talking about how “you can see everything,” according to Deadline.
The retired athlete, 49, quipped to Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria, “I was like, ‘Well, don’t zoom in then.’”
As for Adams’ daughter and Beckham’s wife, Victoria Beckham, she, too, admired the shirtless images.
“My boss 🖤 😉,” the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer, 50, captioned a recent Instagram post featuring a close-up shot of David’s crotch — covered only by black Boss boxer briefs.
David told Bajaria on Tuesday that he “trained” for 14 weeks prior to the shoot and cut “good food and wine” from his diet.
“I hung my pants up when I did my last commercial 10 years ago and never thought I’d do it again,” he confessed.
“I told my team, ‘I’m not going back in my underwear,’ but then we signed the Boss deal, and they said they had an underwear campaign, and I was under quite a bit of pressure at that point, so I agreed and trained for it.”
David announced the launch of the brand’s Boss One Bodywear collection last month, sharing on Instagram a video of the campaign helmed by fashion photographers Mert and Marcus.
In the steamy clip, the Inter Miami CF co-owner sported a sleek suit and tie as he exited a luxury vehicle and entered a high-rise home, where he stripped down to his underwear to expose his toned and tattooed body.
David then did some pull-ups, ate a bowl of cereal, played a game of pool and eventually got in the shower — all while neighbors in the high-rise across the way thirsted over their view.
