Dancing On Ice’s Dan Edgar has addressed rumours he cheated on ex Kate Ferdinand after she avoided an awkward run in with him at the ITV studios last weekend.

The TOWIE star, 34, is competing in the skating show alongside Kate’s brother-in-law Anton Ferdinand, 39, and she and husband Rio, 46, attended the filming of the opening episode to offer their support.

Kate, 33, and Dan dated for six years and she was introduced on The Only Way Is Essex as his on-off girlfriend in 2015. But a year later, Dan was accused of cheating with co-star Chloe Lewis and the couple split for good in 2017.

Dan denied the allegations and told The Sun: ‘I’ve made some stupid mistakes in the past but we weren’t together at the time I kissed Chloe. I wasn’t emotionally mature enough back then to deal with a relationship of that longevity. It was young love’.

The reality star went on to say that despite not speaking to Kate since their split, if they did cross paths he would happily say hello as there was ‘no bad blood’ between.

Kate went on to wed former England star Rio, 46, in 2019 and became step-mum to his three children. The pair later welcomed two kids of their own.

However Dan may not be so friendly with Rio laughing: ‘The only issue I’d ever have with Anton or with Rio would be because I’m a Tottenham fan and they’re West Ham.’

He also revealed that his mum keeps in contact with all his exes and she chatted with Kate while they were sat in the Dancing On Ice audience.

‘My mum’s still best mates with all of my ex-girlfriends. I think she takes their side over mine most of the time’.

It comes following reports Kate and Rio ‘arrived two hours late’ to support Anton and avoid a run-in with Dan.

As well as showing up late to the filming Kate and Rio are also said to have skipped out on the after-show drinks.

A source told The Sun  the couple ‘clapped for all the couples except Dan’ when they skated out – though Dan performs properly for the first time next week.

MailOnline has approached representatives for Kate and Rio for comment.

Rio and Kate proudly supported Anton as he took to the rink for his debut on Dancing On Ice as they were spotted cheering him on in the audience.

The former West Ham United star  performed his first skate alongside his professional partner Annette Dytrt to Maneskin’s cover of Beggin, earning a solid score of 26 points out of 40.

Rio and Kate were seen watching Anton’s skate from the audience, and later told hosts Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby they were full of pride for him.

The couple also confessed they were ‘very nervous’ to watch Anton’s first skate, having seen clips of him learning the performance during training.

Rio said: ‘I’m absolutely buzzing, because he sent us a few videos and he was horrific.’

Having heard from the judges that Anton could be ‘one to watch’ in the competition, Rio added: ‘We’ll be back hopefully!’

Kate and and Rio, who married in 2019, are parents to Cree who born in December 2020 and daughter Shae, who was born last year via C-section.

She is also step-mother to his three children Lorenz, 18, Tate, 15, and Tia, 13, from his previous marriage to Rebecca Ellison who passed away in 2015.

The married couple met back in 2016 through mutual friends while they were both on holiday in Dubai.

To mark eight years together, Kate and Rio went back to the UAE to ring in 2025 with Kate sharing a cosy snap of the pair enjoying a night out.

Alongside the post, she wrote: ‘Rio & I met 8 years ago yesterday.

‘Who would have thought that fast forward to now we would be back in the place we met, married, with 2 more beautiful children, 5 in total.

‘It’s crazy to think that a chance meeting, and so many hurdles thrown our way we would be ready to see in the new year as a family of 7(just missing our Lorenz).

‘Going in to 2025 feeling very grateful and excited for what’s to come.’
