Who you gonna call? Apparently, the NYPD.
Dan Aykroyd revealed that he and his “Ghostbusters” co-star Bill Murray once stole two “fully equipped” police motorcycles for their impromptu Central Park joyride.
Aykroyd, who starred alongside Murray in the hit franchise, said that the pair “appropriated” the bikes from the “Ghostbusters II” set during its 1988-89 shoot and took them for a late-night ride in New York City.
“So many adventures over the years,” Aykroyd wrote on Instagram as he celebrated Murray’s 76th birthday Wednesday, sharing two throwback photos of the longtime friends and co-stars.
“One night shooting GB2, we appropriated two fully equipped police motorcycles from the movie’s motor pool and spent an hour chasing each other around a closed Central Park with full lights and sirens.”
Aykroyd clarified that the joyride didn’t get the two actors into any trouble.
“No consequences. After all, we were Ghostbusters,” he quipped.
Aykroyd, 74, also praised Murray in the touching birthday tribute as “the greatest comedy leading man of our time.”
The two comedians first met in the 1970s as they were beginning their comedy careers.
Both eventually joined “Saturday Night Live,” where Aykroyd was part of the original cast and Murray joined during the show’s second season.
Their most famous collaboration came in 1984, when they starred in “Ghostbusters” alongside Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.
The four original Ghostbusters reunited for “Ghostbusters II,” released in 1989.
After Ramis’ death in 2014 at age 69, Aykroyd, Murray and Hudson made cameos in the 2016 reboot before reprising their original roles in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” in 2021 and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” in 2024.
Hudson exclusively told Page Six in March that Murray still calls him unexpectedly.
“[Bill Murray] will call me out of the blue and invite me to something or other that I’m probably not able to do,” he said.
“I tell him, ‘You call me out of the blue. But when I call you, you never return my call!’” he added.
Meanwhile, Aykroyd has soured on living in Hollywood, spending more time in his native Canada in recent years.
Aykroyd said he drives “very carefully” in Los Angeles and stays inside during what he calls “prison hours,” referring to the late-night hours he spends in his gated community, he told Adam Carolla in 2023.
