Dakota Johnson was splattered with fake blood while filming her new movie “Verity” in New York City Wednesday.

The actress was seen walking on set when a staffer sprayed her with gushing red liquid from a special effects device used to create the appearance of blood spray.

Johnson, 35, was joined by her co-star Josh Hartnett, who stood beside her during the gory scene.

The “Madame Web” star’s outfit, consisting of black boots, brown pants and a camel coat, was completely destroyed from the bloodstains.

Her face, hair and Beats by Dr. Dre headphones were also drenched in the oozing red fluid.

Passersby were spotted looking shocked in the background after the jarring moment left Johnson looking like she had just witnessed a gunshot incident.

Following the grisly display, Johnson was seen chatting with Hartnett, 46, who was dressed in a gray suit and tie.

Last December, Deadline confirmed that Johnson and Hartnett signed on to join Anne Hathaway in the film, which is based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same name.

Johnson will portray the character Lowen Ashleigh, a writer struggling to make ends meet who accepts a ghostwriter position to finish the remaining books of a famed thriller author named Verity Crawford, who is played by Hathaway.

Hartnett took on the role of Verity’s husband, Jeremy, who hires Lowen after his wife suffers a mysterious accident rendering her unable to complete her book projects.

Michael Showalter is directing the Amazon MGM Studios film. He is also co-producing the project with Hathaway and Hoover.

This isn’t the first of Hoover’s books to be adapted into a motion picture.

The film adaptation of her 2016 book “It Ends With Us” premiered on the big screen last year, raking in more than $346 million at the worldwide box office.

The drama behind the scenes made headlines after news erupted of a bitter feud between co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which has since manifested into several lawsuits over allegations of sexual assault and extortion.

Hoover’s books, “Regretting You” and “Reminders of Him,” have also been picked up for movie adaptations.
